So you're the new GM and you have total control over the roster of this team. Who do you keep... who do you trade for draft picks and what other moves do you make and why?

I get my coach and his staff first.

I know I need DT's, Safeties and CB's. However I need to see what Im running first as far as the individual players go

As I said before the trade deadline, I would have traded Cooper and Prescott and used those picks to find myself a Quarterback. Use whatever I have leftover on the defensive line. Get rid of Crawford and put some money towards a disruptive DT.

Hire one of these 3 coaches and let them assemble their staff:

Meyer
Riley
Rhule

Players that definitely need to go:

Crawford
Heath
Snake
Witten
Gregory

Players im not breaking the bank for:

Cooper
Dakota
Jones

Players I try and bring back on the cheap:

Bennett (leadership purposes alone)
Brown
Cobb
Austin
Jarwin
Thomas
Collins

I solely focus on improving this DL. A 300+ lb NT and a 3T. Collins and Trash Hill can be the backup.

Well, if I am given control over coaching, first I fire the entire coaching staff. OC would be given to Riley. HC to Meyer. DC to Rivera. ST to Tony Elliott maybe.

As for the roster, we are stuck with Zeke and D-Law, so I’d build around them. Keep Pollard in, and draft a new DE to balance out D-Law. I’d get a new middle LB since LVE and Jaylon have regressed. I’d also get a new LB coach or promote Sean Lee to LB coach.

I’d bring in another offensive line guard. We are screwed with Sua Filo and Connor Williams in. Time to draft someone else. Furthermore, I’d draft a number 1 WR. Amari is great, so is Gallup, but I want a true play maker. Julio Jones, Hopkins, Tyreek Hill, etc. we are missing playmakers from this team, as we have no big ones.

I’d draft 2 DT’s. We have no good ones. I’d draft or pick up 2 safeties. We have no good ones. I’d draft/pick up 2 or 3 CB/DB’s, since ours are penalty machines that not only do not turn their heads (though that’s a coaching issue more than anything), but they also can’t block a receiver.

I’d pick up/draft a new kicker and punter.

I’d also pick up a playmaking TE. We need someone like Kittle or Kelce. Our TE’s are below average.

As for Dak, I’d tag him and bring in competition. I’d either trade up for Tua, or bring in Hurts and let Riley continue to coach him through the motions. Dak just isn’t who we need him to be. He’s not good enough.
Sorry.

I’d basically have a small rebuild.

The problem with threads like this is you said you would trade Cooper and Prescott for picks. You never made any case for which teams who you traded them to and for what picks and why the other team would make such a trade. You would ‘find’ a QB huh?? Which qb?? Where would you find him?? 1st round...2nd round?? What’s his name??

These threads are purely speculative at best and have absolutely zero place in any type of realistic nfl transaction period.

So turn on Madden and carry on because that is the only place your ‘plan’ has any substance. In fantasy la-la land.

I'd unload everyone and build it from scratch. Get what you can in draft picks while immediately gutting the entire team and every single coach.

Identify the GM candidates who are ahead of the current trends and make the best hire possible. Then let him do his job...starting with hiring the head coach of his choice and allowing that GM to work with that coach to put together a coaching staff that completes the vision of the GM and the desires/scheme of the head coach to establish organizational direction, cohesion, and an accountability tree.

Make the owner sign an agreement to stop all pre & post game pressers. No public comments related to any on field matters or football operations. No radio interviews related to any on field matters or football operations.

Next, let the GM have complete control over the draft and player acquisition to build the team according to his vision and let his hand picked coach coach the team.

Coach holds the players accountable. Gm holds the coach accountable. Owner holds the GM accountable.

Not a new concept.

Clean house all coaches except Kitna and Moore stay

and Moore would be on a 1 year deal

second i draft the best interior DLineman in the first

i trade what i can for Jamal Adams

lastly i find a DB coach that tells players to turn their head and swat the ball....i see a db not turn his head ill fire the entire defensive staff.....dont even play with me ill go throught a whole staff multiple times
