I'm generally on board with Meyer but that proves nothing with regards to being a successful NFL Head Coach.

How many college games did these coaches win?
Nick Saban.
Steve Spurrier
Barry Switzer

None of them were good NFL Head Coaches.
How many did Jimmy Johnson win in college?

It’s not about how many, it’s the fashion which both Jimmy and Urban win with

The next coach of the Dallas Cowboys......

S***, Buttermaker’d be an upgrade over the azzclown we have now. How in the world does Jerry think Jason’s been even average let alone good.

If he wins it’s because he’s a great evaluator of ASSISTANT COACHES. His assistants always go on to get head jobs.

Charlie Strong
Tom Herman
Greg Schiano
Everett Withers (Texas State coach)
Ryan Day
Mike Vrabel
Dan McCarney
Dan Mullen
Gary Andersen
Luke Fickell
Steve Addazio
Kyle Whittingham
Chris Ash

That to me is BY far his most impressive aspect. He’s much better than Belichick in that guys leave and become successful after leaving. That means he’s bringing in great minds and not just having guys get jobs and fired within 3 years because they didn’t actually learn enough like Belichicks assistants.

Ever seen a team win 10 games in a row by an average of almost 35 points a game playing a SEC schedule? 6 of 10 were ranked. 3 of those ranked in top 5. Including back to back double digit wins over #1’s..

That’s Urban Meyer for yall pumpkins

I like UM too. But never think that college FB success guarantees it in the NFL. Coach Meyer hasn’t lined up at kickoff without a talent gap since he was at Utah or Bowling Green. At Fla and Ohio State he had a huge talent advantage he will never have in the NFL.

Im fine with Meyer. His swagger reminds me of Jimmy Johnson. Given his health and burn out issues he’s not the long term answer. But I fully believe that he would get the best out of this roster.

With Riley, Meyer or Petersen we can’t go wrong. I just hope that Jerry doesn’t pull some crazy dark horse candidate out of his arse, aka Chan Gailey, or reach back for familiarity with Del Rio or Norv Turner.
