When did Jerry stop going down to the sidelines?

When he first bought the team he would always go down to the sidelines late in the 4th quarter. In fact, I think he was the first owner to go down to the sidelines. Now, not a trace. When did he stop? I assume the reason was he was booed unmercifully?

Arthritis and blood/alcohol percentage.
And I don't think he was ever in the midst of raining boos by his appearance on the sidelines.

I quit paying attention to it after he did this to Garrett....

Jerry basically ordered Garrett to put Romo back in - right in the middle of a game.

I hope the new prospective coaches being interviewed know all of the examples, like this one, of Jerry's meddling.

Didn't Wade Phillips want to institute some type of routine fine for some type of player infraction, and Jerry over ruled him and wouldnt allow it?

He stopped at some point in the 90's. Except once in a while especially if a key player was injured.

Why does it bother people so much he did that. He didn't got to the sidelines, he never talked to the coaches. I don't even think he talked to the players. I think the only time he really talked to anyone was if a player was injured, like when Aikman got injured.

Other owners, have wen to the sidelines as well. I remember seeing Kraft, Lurie on the sidelines. But I guess only Jerry is mentioned and whined about.

He intentionally quit doing it because of the media perception that he was undermining the Head Coach. I don't remember exactly when he stopped. Sometime after the new stadium was built.

It had nothing to do with being booed.

Oh no, IIRC, Wade lowered the boom on Spencer to the tune of like 50 bucks which I’m sure put Anthony immediately back in line
