What? Dak doesn't want a contract like that unless he gets some insane amount of it guaranteed. But most likely, the last 5-6 years of such a contract would be not guaranteed, and so the contract would tie Dak here for much longer than he wants.

I thought there were limits on length of contracts, you can add length but a new contract I thought was locked at 7 years.

All those who want a “GM” please stand up...then hope they aren’t a complete dunce.

Mike Tannenbaum. The 'former GM' that destroyed both the Jets and Dolphins and has helped the Patriots to dominate that division for over a decade.

Does anybody actually care what he thinks?

He certainly makes it clear that he knows absolutely nothing about the ongoing negotiations. Dak doesn't want to sign a deal longer than 4 years, much less one for 10 years.

The amount per season and length are really irrelevent, the only thing that matters is the garanteed money, i would not like to guess at what it would be on a contract that big or long but you would have to think at least 200M, which is ridiculous and if your Dak why sign for that long without that kind of guarantee? So it will never happen

While a do believe whatever they sign him for now will look cheap in a few years, I also think paying Dak $40 million is ridiculous. Before the Cowboys pay him that, they should definitely franchise him and see if he improves under pressure in another year. Paying Dak $40 million a year would be an insult to the really great QBs in the league. Dak still has issues with mechanics and pocket presence after 4 years. These things, if not corrected, are going to limit him for his entire career. If the Cowboys offer Dak more than $35 million they are crazy. The only thing about this contract rumor I like is the $50 million guaranteed money. That's not much considering the size of the contract. Other QBs got a lot more. But I don't think Dak's agent will let him sign for only $50 million guaranteed.

I cannot wait for this contract negotiation to play itself out. There may be a delay if the franchise tag is used but it will get worked out eventually.

Jerry Jones went all in on Prescott sometime during his first two months as a professional. It was always only a matter of time before the heart attacks and strokes would happen. It would be better if some people's road to recovery occurred sooner than later.

Get it done Jerry Jones, for ALL your team fans' sakes. lol.
