Marinelli and ST Coach are the biggest issue with this team

You guys can bash Garrett all you want, but Marinelli and the special teams coach are the single biggest problems this team has now as constructed.

While we are at it, Richard is probably next in line for blame, but it’s hard to tell for sure with the crazy organization structure.

Garrett is actually going to get scapegoated here this year because of his assistants. Like Alannis Morissette once said, “It’s a little bit ironic”....

They all suck. But Marinelli didn’t suddenly forget how to coach. JG’s overall tone is killing this team. And Richard handles the secondary and they have regressed. Big time.

JERRY is the biggest issue with the team but don't forget Kris when handing out blame. He's making the D calls and his secondary is regressed.

Garrett does very little actual coaching. It’s mostly delegated. I’m not saying that’s the way it should be, I’m just stating the obvious.

Is it Marinelli or Richard? I haven;t seen the improvement in the secondary and honestly, Richard's defensive play calling has hurt them at times. This is the problem with having two guys in charge. No one is accountable. But at the end of the day, Garrett is the head coach and if the defense is not playing up to standards then its Garrett's job to get in the faces of the defensive coaches and make them fix it. The same is true with special teams. Tolerating mediocrity is the same as creating mediocrity.

Marinelli hasn’t really done anything with a defense since he lost Booger and Sapp.

I agree with this. But do any of you believe Garrett has the ability to do that? I don’t think so.

there is a lot to go around mainly because people had to do what they had to do.

its complicated but its true. yes we all think Marinelli is bad, but who knows what was going on behind the scenes.

lets just wait til a new HC is installed and see where the chips fall. We might be mad at Richard but who knows who was following orders from. We all know Jerry wanted to be something he is not.

Then JG is the HC and should have corrected it by firing the ST coach. And got a new kicker way earlier in the season. If Richard is calling the plays then how is it Marinelli fault. His style is outdated and don’t work but that’s up to Richard to change. We have gotten so simple on Defense that qb can read us quick. That’s why new young qb are looking so good.

Yeah get rid of them too.

We need better coaching all around.

Garretts had 10 years. You can't put the focus on 1 year. He's not a championship coach and doesn't get the most out of his talent.

Garrett has had a lifetime in coaching years to do something and he's done nothing but waste careers.

All the coaches are a problem. The philosophy of doing the same thing on offense and defense, and not scheme for an opponent is out dated. The Jones' have to realize we can't recreate our 90s success with this approach due to parity in the league.

Seriously? The marinelli approach of "get up the field" leaves massive running lanes and wide gaps for mobile QB's to step up in the pocket. We have zero to none disguised blitzes, mostly ramming Jaylon into the guard when we do. This defensive scheme couldnt be any worse or they vastly missed on the players to play the scheme.

The Bear defense with Peanut and Urlacher led the league in TO’s for like 3 years straight.
