Franchise Dak and let the new coaching staff use 2020 as an audition year

Even if Bill Belichick or Sean Payton said they didn't want Prescott, the Jones boys would tell them thanks for their time and show them the door.

Any HC hired would be told that Dak is the QB and then asked what is your plan to win with him at the helm...

No one is showing the GOAT Belichick any doors, unless it’s the door to a bank

Stupid. This was his audition year.

It makes sense if they're rebuilding, they're not.
Not for a new coach, it wasn’t

I keep assuming he gets signed after the season, but I see the scenario described too.

Nothing to lose in getting another year to evaluate before committing long term. He's looking for greater than franchise tag money anyway.

Yes it is. You have to bring in a coach who is on board with Dak. For my money, there isn't one who wouldn't be anyways. Moving on from Dak sets you back way too far, relative to the rest of the roster.

For the record, I can see the FO going this route too, lol. I just think it's stupid.

If you have Dak audition next year and the new coach says no, you lose either an entire year with a roster built to contend right now and then have to spend how many years finding a replacement, OR he ends up more expensive. It's not like he plays well next year and then everyone agrees on $25 million. There's no win if you wait.

If the new HC wants a year to evaluate him, that's what I'd do. I wouldn't commit to a tag without his input.

But if you let him audition another year and say "no", you don't "lose a whole year", you've dodged a bullet.

On the Cowboys Report Tom Downey was reporting that there was a rumor that there is talks of a 10 year $400,000,000 contract being discussed..... I hope not.

not sure what Dak needs to do ,we wouldnt be in this position if we had better play calling and the oline not sucking so much.

Our Oline is performing as good as any other in the league and is the least of this team's problems. Unless you expect them to pancake every defender on every play then yes they're definitely underperforming.

Franchise Dak and let the new coaching staff use 2020 as an audition year and then decide on his future.

Helman must be reading my posts and those of others on here because that’s what many fans have been saying.

If the new coach wants that. That is fine.

If they hire a real coach, like Urban Meyer. Let the coach decide. If he tells you he wants Dak long term. Then sign him. If not, then franchise and trade or whatever.

Stop throwing behind and low for a start, I know he has been plagued by drops, but missing wide open Zeke on a few key downs and throwing at the foot of streaking Wr in the middle can be improved.

A pretty new coaching staff and a lot of new faces means they're rebuilding, even if they won't call it that.

Draft a QB early...competition. New culture. No Hot Boyz...ties and shirts. Make the earn their money. Not dance around like a bunch of clowns. That's not the Dallas Cowboys...that I knew. They were Champions.

Not stupid. Franchise tag Dak and he still gets a big 1 yr deal. If Dak doesn't like the new coach, he can be a free agent and try other places. If he does like the coach, the new coach will lobby for a long-term deal
