Last year Zeke led the league in rushing. Cowboys went 10-6 and won the division.
This year Dak is leading the league in passing yards and the Cowboys are 6-7.

This team isn't set up, or Dak isn't able to (take your pick) win through a high volume passing attack....

I mean, when the defense lets the opposing team score on every drive and drain the clock, we can’t do much winning through Zeke.

Nonsense. The defense hasn't gotten blown out in but two games, and what about the Saints and Patriots games? Saints didn't even score one touchdown, Pats one.

Sometimes you do have to chunk the ball, if you get behind like in the Bears game, but we saw in that game, like the missed pass to Olawaze (sic), then you have to depend on the passing game to win, and that isn't the Cowboys' game.

Not saying run Zeke 30 times a game regardless, but in close games, if you keep giving it to him you'll wear the defense down and he'll break the long run, a la the Steelers game a couple of years ago, or it will open up the passing lanes for some throws that Dak can make...

Could be because he gets gassed by the second half and has to pull himself out all of the time. Cabo hold out
Has more to do with the fact we haven’t forced but a punt or two over last two games
You can’t stick to the run when the other team is scoring every drive
We don’t run as much as I would like but when you start with worst field position in the nfl, and can’t stop anyone it makes being balanced very tough

I've said it before, I'll say it again, it's because Garrett has no idea how to manage a game and has no feel for game flow . No gameplan. No adjustments. No attempt to put people in position to utilize their strengths. It's just straight up here's the playbook, everybody go beat your guy. Good luck.

That about sums it up.

Again, it leads back to Garrett & Moore.

Can't wait for Garrett to be gone so these ongoing topics stop, for good!

It seems, almost everyone wanted 400 yard plus football games. I liked when we were back at 2:50 and winning

Man this abandoning the run goes back to the days of Felix Jones, MBIII and Tashard Choice

were still doing the same crap?

I would even say it goes back to the days of Emmitt when Dave Campo was the head coach.

Oh the irony! An article about the Cowboys “abandoning” a player who abandoned the Cowboys and his teammates for more money with 2 years left on his contract.

Oh yeah...who abandoned who on a critical 3rd down against the Bears because the “workhorse” couldn’t handle the load?

Good stuff.

The first game of the season. The offense of line was not blocking the way they did normally. You can’t tell me they weren’t upset about that contract. And rightfully so in my opinion

Uh, no. This defense has been blown out in essentially 4 games. The Packers, Jets, Bears, and Bills game. Hell, even the Lions game should count. Luckily the Lions defense was worse than ours, so we won. I agree we should run Zeke more, but playcalling seems to shift as soon as Zeke gets stopped after one yard. It's like Kellen or Garrett or whoever is calling plays is like "Welp. They stopped Zeke one time! Gotta win through the air now!". I think that Vikings game scared them because they haven't ran the ball as much since. Whatever. I'm over this team at this point in the season.

this!!! There are times when abandoning Zeke is a good recipe. (Minnesota game) there are other when its stupid (Buffalo game). Garrett is too stupid to realize which is which

STUOID comment, no its the coaching staff 100% they get scared get behind and abandon the run..

Zekes a professional athlete and an élite one, hes not and never has been out of shape and more or less then any other player over and offseason that take a few full games to get going.. hes being criticized having a down year in stats when ive been saying what this article is pointing out all year, the Offense gets pass happy the first half of the season, second half the defense and offense get behind and abandon the run..

Zeke also was running 6YPC the first half of the green Bay game..

his demise while being top 5 still this year is way off base.. he will never be 2016 Zeke he was young, we have a better Oline, and was run first offense with Callahan a much better Line coach...

EE has not lost much of his talent, its BS I watch all these games and Zekes always been a grinder, ponder, and its what hes been doing this year.. the eagles/NYG giants game Miami, and these 4 games being discussed, he sure looks like Zeke to me...

just because you dont agree with his deal, his holdout or EE as person shouldnt make you a blind hater troll.

zekes not been our issue this year.. look toward KM, Dak, the defense and ST first..
