Because the Captains are from a losing culture while Bennett is from a winning one and knows what's what?
To a degree, but it says something about those two..for a defensive guy to come in and after 3 weeks take over what they've had all year.

My point is those guys aren't leaders cause a leader wouldn't allow that situation.

2¢: last year I don't recall a leadership problem. Funny how when "Thug Witten" is on the team there's always leadership issues.

There are at least 9 other guys on defense that have to play better. Tank has not delivered the splash plays we signed him for this year but he has been solid. Again, you want more from a 100 million dollar man, but he has played well, just not getting home as often as in the past. The rest of this defense? Outside of Quinn, has been hot garbage.

Quinn isn't grading out elite either. He's garbage against the run. He should be a situational pass rusher not a 3 down DE.

Those two captains got paid and then disappeared....and now people are listening to Bennett. Coincidence?

Welcome to the season?

LOL good gawd dude is out to lunch if he thinks now is the time to step up

Realistically, what do we expect him to say?

"I've been playing great so I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing."

"I don't have anything to be concerned about because I've already been paid."

I guess he could go silent and say "No comment" when any media asks him a question or just say "The time for talking is long gone." But instead, he's taking ownership of the fact that he needs to do more. He could point out how well he's playing against the run or how hard he plays, but he's not doing that.

Fans are dissatisfied with his numbers so they are going to be dissatisfied with anything he has to say about his play at this point.

Great. I guess we can count on him for 2 offsides calls on 3rd down this week instead of just one. Get 'em Hotboy!

If Tank n Jaylon are supposed to be team captains..why the hell is Bennett leading the pregame hype huddle?
On the break today they talked about an interesting observation that they made during the Bear's game. They crew basically said that it was a crucial 3rd down on defense and Bennett was on the field pointing to Dlaw and Quinn (as if "are you serious?") to get on the field and play as they needed to make this stop. Not sure if anyone caught the convo but it seems like some of the D linemen are mailing it in and taking themselves out of important situations during the game too often. It also speaks volumes as to what kind of leader Bennett is and maybe the type of no nonsense BS leader that this team has been lacking. Dlaw has been one of the team leaders for a while but it seems hes slacking and that attitude is having a poisonous effect on the rest of the D.

Thanks for the info. This is concerning. Bennett is doing exactly what he's supposed to do, and it's looking like the defensive team captains don't have a clue or aren't willing to do what's required to be the best.

Exactly....and it makes me think that the entitled attitude that players like Dlaw and Jaylon are displaying is the norm in the Cowboys locker room. And these are the supposed team leaders. Im glad someone (with skins on the wall) is calling these losers out and putting them in check.
