If you look at the advanced player stats, Jaylon has 11 missed tackles and a missed tackle rate of 8.4%, which 279th place. LVE has a missed tackle rate of 16.3%, which is 54th. For comparison, Luke Kuechly has 10 missed tackles for a rate of 8.1%. Myles Jack has 12 missed tackles in 11 games and a rate of 15.4%.

Here's my stats....zero missed tackles
4.2s to the toilet

He may have engaged in a deal with some Russian business to create a fake social media campaign designed to get him into the Pro Bowl.

It's the thing to do these days.
Welll Hillary DID try to and look where that got her.

Lobbying for his fans to support his longing for the glory!

What a self-serving card this one has become!
Typical Cowboys meathead.

The thing is he wasn't ALWAYS a meathead. It seems getting payday by Jerry transforms a quiet shy but hardworking human into one.,

I'm not convinced it's getting paid big bucks that's at the root of the problem. It might easily have been a result of being a Dallas Cowboys long enough to become as entitled as so many of his teammates.

Whether it was being paid the big bucks or the environment of being a Dallas Cowboy that caused it doesn't really matter. There's something about the glitz and glamour of being a Dallas Cowboy that seems to go to a guy's head.

Whatever the cause might have been, it needs to stop. Lobbying to become a Pro Bowl member signifies entitlement. It's not a good look, nor something that would be likely to evoke respect. Evidently, he needs to be made aware of crossing a line that had best not be crossed.

He is the captain on a team that is sub .500. The opposition targeted him on 3 straight possessions on National TV....because they knew the "Pro Bowler" was an easy target. I mean you simply cannot make this stuff up.

But having said all of that...when you play for a franchise....that see's its value continue to rise...without having to win anything....there should be no wonder why the players feel as entitled as the owner!

Like I stated previously, it doesn't really matter what his motivations for being entitled are. If he's being entitled because of any false reasoning, it's a phony excuse. Lobbying to be a pro bowler isn't a good look for anyone, whether they're a captain or not. He needs to get back to being the same humble guy that we drafted if he expects this fan base to respect him. After all, they're the ones who have to choose him for being a "pro bowler."

Every player deserves to get that honor by what they do on the field, without lobbying the fans for that honor. Nobody is entitled to honor beyond what they do to earn it on the field. Copying Jerry's tacky ways certainly isn't conducive to anyone's popularity, including Jaylon's. He needs to realize that. The vast majority of the members here prove that to be so.

i thought you meant he was 279th meaning missed that many tackles he was dead last in the league but not sure there are that many starters in the League..

So can you provide a link to those stats?

I suspect you’re gonna find some dubious missed tackle rates based on small sample size.

Jaylon has very quickly become one of the most unlikable players on this squad.

I think he's completely oblivious.
I have an even scarier thought....and I HOPE I am wrong....I think he is done. He does things that LBers do not do.....regardless if they are below average, average, Pro Bowler or All Pro. It would be one thing if he avoids contact and make business decisions from time to time. But he consistently wants no part of physical play. He diagnoses things AFTER they have happened. Then uses his speed to "run to the ball". Not hard to rack up tackles that way.
As I have stated....we better hope he has been playing injured all year...if not....we have a real problem.

Jaylon Smith caught heat a few times in last week’s loss to Chicago, including breaking out The Swipe after a fumble recovery when trailing 24-7. “The Swipe is so much more than a celebration,” he said. “I’m trying to eradicate all the negative energy that’s happened in the past and trying to create some momentum to help propel us forward. It’s something I’ve done since I was a sophomore in high school and it’s worked, so we’re going to keep it going. But we’ve got to turn things around.”
