I think I have a new name for Jerry. Captain Ahab (or Ahab for short). His white whale isn't the SB. It's wanting to be known as a football genius. He's not capable of this but still chases that impossibility to the point that he'll die doing it...never succeeding.

He's insane when it comes to this subject. Nothing will make him change. His ego won't allow it. We're stuck with Captain Ahab at the helm until he is killed by his Moby Dick.
From hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee.

I think revenge is a significant portion of his drive to be need to be known as a football guy. "The Snub" was a major factor in breaking a part of Jerry's psyche. Of course, events in his life before this were significant too. I think not getting enough love and appreciation and support from his father early on played a role... like his father actively blocking his attempt to buy the Chargers...to his playing footballs days and being treated like a star then...he ended up craving that adulation from high school and college.

It's an interesting character study in how specific events over time eventually twist someone.

Why the heck hire Garrett then ?!
It was a senile/ lunatic move back in 2010 !
10 years later its a complete catastrophe !

If Jerry wants to take charge , then he should go to the sidelines & Coach .

The last 25 years would absolutely be worth it if Jerry showed up on the sidelines with a fedora, tracksuit and a whistle :lmao:

I wish they would take down the quote on the wall at the Star that Jerry threw down the night he bought the team in 1989, because it has become a joke rather than a motivator or guiding light:

“We must win. We will win. Win is the name of the game.” Jerry Jones, 1989

It should now read, “I must be the face of the franchise, I will be the face of the franchise, being the center of all attention regarding the Cowboys is the name of my game. That’s what winning means.” Jerry Jones, 2019

Its clear over the years we’ve had talent. The talent on the roster hasn’t always been the problem. In the nfl more than any sport coaching matters. When you have coaches that don’t make adjustments and use analytics in game... when every other team is taking advantage your gonng to be average.

All those years Jerry didn’t want to draft online man till he took tyron smith and finally saw how important it was.

he knows how important coaching is... he just won’t share the credit. He is childish and selfish.

Jerry, if you're reading this, I want to relay a story to you. It won't take the 3 and a half minutes you took to explain why you're the best GM for the Cowboys.

I went into the bathroom at work today, and the one Miami Dolphins fan we have working there finished doing his business, washed his hands, then turned to me and said, "Man the Cowboys suck!"

Cool story, eh Jerry?

It’s funny, but I don’t quite get it, coming from a Miami fan. To me it’s like the 500 pound man making fun of the 350 pound man for being fat.

OK there you have it right from the horses mouth so all you people that keeps crying about getting a new head coach you just got your answer if we do you guys will be complaining about him like you complain about Jason Garrett because he will not have any power just like Jason so we might as well keep the coach that we have at least he knows Jerry and as I have been saying until Jerry Jones change everything will remain the same

Though in this case, they're both 500 pound men.

Soooooo, you didn't know that Jerry is responsible for hiring the people around him?

Not that you do know, I would imagine you've adjust your thinking.
If I'm POTUS and I fill my table with knowledgeable experienced people, we can do a decent job. But if I fill my table with Jim Bob from the gym and Lil' Tony from the pub then we about to mess the country up.

Jerry is only as good as the information he's being feed. And apparently someone has gotten it into his mind that DT's ans SS's are never a big need. Jerry was owner when we had Darren Woodson, Roy Williams, Leon Lett, and Russell Maryland. So in the past Jerry didn't mind spending high draft picks on those positions. He didn't have that put anybody at those positions attitude, but here lately they've been over looking those positions.

What I'm saying is they need to clean house. Jerry and Stephen are going anywhere, but from McClay on down...Good bye. Every single last coach on that sideline, good bye.
