RBs take too much of a beating to pay franchise money. The more you pay a back the more you want to use him, correlating into a quicker decline in production. Zeke is going to become a cap problem that hurts the talent level of the roster. But we are used to that with the Cowboys.

Should have kept Bill Callahan at all costs.
Callahan wanted out the previous year and was miffed after Jerry had denied him interviewing with someone else... lateral transfer or some such. Once his contract was up he was leaving.

You say that as if he was fired but that's not the case, he left of his own free will. If he wanted to be on the Cowboys coaching staff, he would still be there. Money was not the reason he walked.

We are not blocking as well..
Zeke has lost a step.
If the film proves all, then clearly both his acceleration and top end are off.
There is no comparison between 2016 and this year.
This contract will be the 2nd worst contract Jerry has completed.
Jerry thought he was on his way to a super bowl this year and wasn't going to let a pesky hold out stop us.
Genius as usual.

So he doesn’t show the play against the Jets when it was two All Pro Cowboys in the open field against a 2nd round safety, and Maye wins the battle holding Zeke to only a 12 yard gain? Guess that wasn’t enough space for a generational back to make something happen. Can’t juke, can’t outrun, can’t stiff arm a player for a big play. Just needs nobody around him at all for that to occur.

zeke a durability needs to be taken into consideration and celebrated. He may not be elite in terms of speed but he does everything well.

the guy is on pace for 1400 yards... 13 touchdowns and 52 or so catches in a “down year” and that’s in a year for some reason when we’ve gone away from him in some close games.

People point to these other flashy big play rbs? But how many of those guys have either been one hit wonders or unable to stay healthy?

People don’t realize zeke is on pace to be a hall of gamer.

No maybe not worth the contract. But I’ll take the consistency and durability over a lot of other players. Zeke is fine and the least of our worries

Feel free to name which ones are “one hit wonders or unable to stay healthy?”

you act as if all costs only means monetary, they should have did whatever to keep this guy.

"at all cost" is a far too ambiguous statement for anyone to know what you are getting at. Are we to assume you mean retaining Callahan was worth more than retaining any other coach? That's nonsense. It's not like his services since leaving the Cowboys, have the Commanders contending in the league's worst division.

If it going beyond the surface is too difficult for you, thinking is hard... but he's more valuable than say Garrett and Rod without a doubt.

As usual, when others disagree with you, you can't help yourself, you must insult. To not insult must be difficult for you.

I do like battering the dumb
The dumb would be anyone that has a different opinion than yours. Admitting you enjoy "battering" these good folks is a direct result of the mods not enforcing this forum's own rules. If you weren't allowed to do so, you wouldn't be around to be so jubilant of your deeds. Mods take not and do better.

I'm reserving judgement until I see Zeke run in a Garrett-free offense. These 1st down under-center LG dives we call are just so predictable.

Why you'd consistently run it behind an injured center and a bum LG when your other 3 linemen are all studs is beyond me. But hey, that's Garrett for you. Honestly, I think the "OL isn't getting the same push" stuff is more like "Frederick's not getting the same push, and we don't run outside anymore."

5th in carries, 5th in yards, and 5th in touchdowns.

But when you pay a RB people expect him to turn into Superman, one of a few reasons why you don't pay RBs.

Bingo. The casual fans blame Zeke but people that know football and have been watching every play of every game can easily see our run blocking is horrendous now. This will also be blamed on Jason Garrett & Jerry because everything is their fault...

LOL.

Is this an excuse Jason Garrett post?

There is still plenty of cap space. That has long been established.

There really isn’t.

In other words because of the cap and impending contracts to Dak and Cooper, for example, someone(s) like Jones and/or Quinn and/or Bennett won’t likely be back.
