If you’re Garrett, what can you say this time?

...the boat is sinking and your likely done as HC. The Black Cat eventually crapped on the season. Yet, in all this despair the team is in first place by skin of your teeth.

I cant even begin to fathom what can you possibly say to these players, that hasn't been said before? Is it to late? Would you just go through the motions, just to finish the year? Is it to late for some players? Some look to have their priorities tied to other things, other than football.

Will be interesting to seeing the grand finally of last 3 games.

...share some sugar on this. ;)...

You say play for yourself and your teamates - don't waste all your hard work of the season!

If I were JG, I'd immediately go and talk to Jerry about what type of payoff I would get if I stepped down right now. At this point, JG has to be concerned about whatever salary is left for him to receive, because that's all that's left. And since he will in all likelihood never make again anywhere close to what he's making now, it would be a "get all you can, then step down" sort of thing.

Say what Jimmy did to the team in the locker room, after the Leon Lett T-Day debacle.

"If you win out you will be where you wanted to be at the start of the season"
Or something very near that.

What he meant was win the division, but also in that case get HFA.
Which we can't of course. But win out, win the division. (actually beat the Eagles and win one other game) but the same premise.

Huge difference....Jimmy eons better than Jason....

In the modern day salary cap parity NFL the idea of lining up and beating the other team in the trenches just doesn’t work. You can never create a good enough team.

Hence coaching matters. Constantly changing schemes, constant innovation, digging deep to uncover/exploit opponents weaknesses and your own match up advantages, close observation of what’s happening in real time, adjusting to what opponent is doing, clarity on job roles and discipline for freelancing, using analytics.

These are the things that win ball games in this day and age.

Garret is just from a bygone era. Simple as that.

He will continue to do what he's done since he got there, talk and say nothing. He learned that from Aikman and later so did Romo, do not give them anything they can use against you.

No man likes to fail but he will be happier not being the HC of the Cowboys. And I do wonder at what point the next HC feels that same way.

They never cared what that effeminate weakling and sorry excuse of a man said to begin with.

Garrett knew he was done mid season. It was obvious that he’d given up once he realized Jerry wasn’t extending him.

There’s nothing else left for Jerry to say. There’s nothing else left that Garrett can do. The Cowboys are broken. What comes next is inevitable. The only question is when.
