So maybe Switzer was right on the podium...
in trying to encourage Jerry in doing it “His Way” but I strongly doubt most saw it as a Jerry accomplishment

I mean bare minimum speaking at best, I guess his statement can be considered true

But not without the proper context

Maybe. But after Jimmy he would not let a coach bring in the talent.
That's the shame with Garrett, I think he actually figured out how to coddle the man-child owner, while not "losing the team" He just never improved at Game plan/in-game/clock/adjustments/situational management. The things that are generally most important in winning.

No outsiders means no new ideas and no innovation. Everyone in the building knows what Jerry likes and doesn't like, and behaves accordingly.

If it hasn't changed after 23 years of falling short I have little hope of it ever changing, even after Jerry's gone.

Seriously. The clapper doesn't pick assistants, he doesn't call plays, he doesn't do schemes. He has to run everything by Jerry that he actually does. If Jerry doesn't need a GM to do the leg work, identify the players and coaches to get, etc. why does he need a coach? Why not just do it himself? It really wouldn't change much.

Let's just let Jerry take full responsibility for the Cowboys and see how it goes. No reason to hide behind a puppet.

I realize I've been bashing the guy, and I truly cant stand him, his antics are an embarrassment to the fan base.....

But I have to say he isnt THAT terrible as GM, although nowhere near qualified.

His problem is he wont bring in a real staff because he wants to do whatever he wants and be the face of the franchise. That alone completely undermines any coach, and no one worth their salt would stand for it or work for him.
