Here are some notable FA quarterbacks coming in 2020 -
Jameis Winston
Marcus Mariota
Ryan Tannehill
Case Keenum
Teddy Bridgewater

Dak Prescott is in that class of quarterbacks. It's a buyers market for quarterbacks of Dak's caliber. Let him become a FA and pick the cheapest of the bunch and draft a quarterback high and develop him. The team can go 7-9 and 9-7 with any one of those quarterbacks without the requirement of that kind of contract.
If we do as you suggest we would be the Broncos just different colors. Please.

We should be worried. Dak has shown he is not the type of QB who can without top shelf talent around him, which is fine, not many QB's are in that tier. But those that can are the one's who deserve top money. When you give all this money to Dak, you can't give it to others, you can't put the pieces around him he needs to excel.

Of course it could all just be on coaching. Hopefully we find out soon. I'm all for tagging him this off-season and seeing what next year brings.
The real question is just how much does Dak share a part of the success and failures of this season. There was a time when people complain led that he could not get 200 in a game and this year is a very Stark difference. Is he that complete guy who totally elevates everyone and anyone around him? Not yet but I think he's improved to a point where there were questions about who drived the offense and with Zeke that's something. He needs less force and more focus so tag him and see if he clears that last hurdle next year.

I think Bridgewater signed a deal with the Saints to stay a few more years.
No to Keenum.

Actually the other 3 may be interesting, a new HC may be able to work with them, but they also can work with Dak.
He signed a 1 year deal this past offseason. So he will cash in from his performance this year.

The Broncos are just one game behind the Cowboys and just beat the division leading Texans with their 2nd round rookie Quarterback.

So.... yea.
Really? And the year before that and that and that? Where have they been since Peyton left? You see it's real easy to just say let's get rid of a guy and look for better but that moment when you realize that it's 5 years later and you haven't found him, you start to regret a bit. It's not easy no matter if you are a number 1 (Wentz or tribby can attest to that) or a 4th rounder.

Wait till the Rams get ahold of him this weekend.
One note here as it wouldn't surprise me if Dak is inept in this one that he hits the bench at some point as bringing in Rush we really have nothing to lose.
We've seen inept Dak the last 2 months against real teams so be ready.
Now concerning all these millions, you're posting hold a small basket as Dak just might be dead man walking by seasons end!

I think if Rush hits the field you will be begging to have DAK EXTENDED. LOL

Anyone that thinks Dak is in that category is a moron.

The sticking point seems to be Dallas wants a long term contract over 6 yrs. Dak's team is pushing for a 4 yr deal. The agents want that guaranteed money. Dallas wants the long term deal to be able to restructure and keep him happy with more guaranteed money.

Offer 1
If i was the team i would go to Dak's team with two offers. One for 10 yrs says 350mil 100 mil guranteed. And say after yr 4 you go back and you restructure to get more guranteed money to Dak and lower the cap adding money as a signing bonus and prorating that for the final 5 yrs of the deal. In a situation like this he will never make over say 33-35mil a yr, and never really cripples the cap especially the way the cap is going up.

Offer 2
4yrs 120mil fully guaranteed. Dak will make a ton of money in 4 yrs and be at a lower yrly avg then Wentz and Goff and Wilson but will make his money and with the ability to score again in 4 yrs. In that time Dallas could find his eventual replacement if hes not still producing. In 4 yrs he would make 4mil less then what Romo made his entire career.

Not trying to be combative with you but the bold is absolutely crazy thinking. I'm absolutely baffled that people think like this.

if the organization pays a guy $30 million a year for the next half decade guaranteed, with the mindset that "if he doesn't produce, we'll just find someone else" is lunacy. Guy has been the starter for 4 years already. If we are not sure he's the guy at this point, then you move on and find his replacement now. You don't spend $120 million for someone you aren't certain is your guy. The trial period/audition is over at this point.

Which makes me even more confident that this is probably exactly waht Jerry and company will do.

But is Dak worth 25 to 35 million more than what those other quarterbacks would command?

In the open market, most certainly not.

So spend 10 million on those quaterbacks (or Dak when his demands align with his value) and use the other 20 million to make the team better.
umm most of those wont be 10 look at foles he got 22 Case a few years back got 15 , the market id high for starting QBs even bottom 16 type like that list..Tannehill and Bridgewater would demand foles type money...so the others im pretty sure even if the gap isnt that big having Dak clones that throw twice as many Interceptions to add to it , not sure its worth it..

thats leaves maybe Tannehill and Teddy at around 22 vs Dak at 34? Ive seen TB be very AVG total bus driver type that was coached up with great surrounding cast in NO.. he was not spectacular by any stretch and Tannehill weve seen that show before Foles as an example of a backup getting hot, getting paid. and then going back to their former selves..

I'm not comfortable with that maybe you being in a player like Case or Marriota as backups, get rid of rush, grab a guy like Tua if he drops to your draft area due to injury concerns, FT dak for 2020 let the backup bridge to Tua..lean on EE while this is happening..

If im a GM thats what im doing heck a Jalen Hurts might fall to you after 15 or 2nd round..just saying thats smarter money then letting dak walk and giving too much for high risk FA..

just like the new HC and staff, the QB , be careful what you wish for, the grass isnt always greener on the other side..

He is in first place as well. Can anyone do that?

First place in the NFC East is like having a trophy on your wall that says "Most Ethical Trial Attorney, as voted by peers"

Absolutely nothing to brag about.

We're the prettiest girl at a pig party. it's embarassing to trumpet that as a positive.
