What is there to shift blame on? The unit that sucks on this team is the linebackers and the defensive tackles. So yeah if you want to give blame to Richard that’s fine but I’d look a little deeper than him. The secondary coaches have been changed and still play exactly the same. The pass D is average at best and that’s his responsibility. And that includes how the LBs are deployed - ie, lots of deep drops giving away easy 6-7 yard completions over the middle, etc.

It’s funny how in all of this mess, Richard somehow should escape blame and some of you think he’s really good.

He should escape blame but if we all agree the defense sucks, the secondary sucks, the linebackers suck, Maranelli sucks....then how in the hell should Richard get blamed for it?

He’s part of the problem. No one said he’s the sole problem. But LOL at he being the one guy that gets a pass. He calls the plays. He is the one that deploys our pass D. But yeah, he’s got zero responsibility in this.

He’s an average DC and needs to go along with everybody else. Franchise needs a total coaching purge.

My fear is Jerry whiffs on some names and settles on Richard for HC.

Hopefully the targeted coach has some bona fide interest elsewhere so that he can dictate some terms.Not fake interest like Jerry and an “Idiot” here perpetuated. Baltimore, LOL.

They need to get him some help. Make no sense for Chido to have some many responsibilities. You leave him as the open option, he guess wrong then get burn. This whole defensive scheme need to be scrap. Can we please bring in real 4-3 coordinators?

The pass D was good until Heath got injured.

They would have won 3 more games if Heath had remained healthy.

Brown was a loss also. Lewis has an INT per 1000 bad plays.

Richard puts Awuzie out isolated with no help short or deep because he is using the "help" to try and stop the run.

This will be remembered as the year the Jeff Heath injury doomed the Cowboys and got Garrett fired.

Seeing how much they miss Heath, I'm expecting them to give him a Zeke type contract. Other teams will be bidding up the price.

Because Marinelli wouldn’t trust him to execute it properly. Marinelli is allowing Richard to do this. This isn’t a hostile takeover or Marinelli wouldn’t be here.

Plus why would Richard make himself be saddled with a playbook and philosophy he doesn’t agree with but yet be judged on. Other teams are not going to give him a pass like everyone here is when it comes to his next DC chance.

I been saying since we drafted these guys Awuzie should be in the slot and Lewis should be outside. These coaches are trash. Anyone that watched chido in college knew he was physical and should be closer to the LOS. He put up crazy sack numbers from slot blitzes as well. I will be rejoicing when marinelli and richard get blown out. Scrub coaches.

Yeah this is really frustrating to see.

Dallas needs a complete overhaul and get all of the country club members out of here.

So we have players with certain strengths and weakness and instead of changing our schemes to minimize weaknesses and focus on their strengths we just shove them into the scheme and basically say "Deal with it"? That doesn't seem like something we would do here...
