Why is it Jaylon isn't playing WLB and Leighton isn't playing MLBer?

Why is it Jaylon isn't playing WLB and Leighton isn't playing MLBer? Jaylon is more of a chaser and LVE at 250+ has size for the inside. Don't get it.

I agree they could be better if flipped ... but IMO, LVE doesn't know the scheme well enough to call it

In our stupid scheme... the WLB ....(used to be Lee)....was used in coverage to pick up RBs out of the backfield...now If Jaylon was used as the WLB....we would be exposed. He can't cover. So to limit this weakness in the defense...We have completely screwed everybody up to hope mask one guys weakness in coverage. Yeah...I know. How stupid can one team be to screw an entire unit to cover for one guys liabilities. Why not just take that player off the field? Answer....$$$. Trying to justify that absurd contract. That's why.

Jaylon weighs about 265 now.

LVE has not been playing any position.

LVE has trouble dealing with blocks so MLB is not ideal for them. Honestly Jaylon has the same problem. LVE should play will and Jaylon Smith should play sam.

When they were playing well last year, this is exactly what was happening. It is maddening that the coaching staff switched it up. Another incredibly stubborn failure on the part of the coaching staff. Not saying they would be performing better this year, but definitely hard to understand why the switch...

I thought Jaylon Smith played Mike last year.

I just don’t think Jaylon has the lateral movement for it. Sadly, he appears too physically limited.

well this is what I said earlier in the year, I thought they both played different position last year.
And since they did so well , why switch them, and after awhile, and it isnt working why not switch them back??

All three of them are basically the same guy, fast chaser types. They are drafting speed it seems. Not a traditional MLB

Why was Tyrone Crawford playing RDE at 290?

Note that prior to drafting LVE, there was talk of moving Jaylon to SLB, which I considered great out of the box thinking. That's probably still our best line up keeping Lee at WLB, LVE at MLB, and Jaylon at SLB for the base defense.

It doesn't matter if you switch them. Neither of these guys is a thumper, so you're not going to get the overwhelming results you'd want. The difference will be LVE doesn't have the take off speed of Smith, so LVE won't run himself completely out of position like Smith does, sometimes.

I don’t know. After the rams exposed the run game against us in the playoffs they have done strange things. Instead of changing the scheme on the line they are messing with the LB, which messes with the secondary. Now our whole back is soft.
