this is one of the biggest issues with this season. Moore/kitna believe Dak is Warren Moon and they call plays like we are Moon's Oilers. This roster and everything about this team was built behind running and playing physical. Winning Time of Possession and wearing opponents out so the average defensive would be rested late in the game.

then the fans and some ex players blamed everything on Scott Linehan and we ended up with moore.

This whole season has seemed to be about proving Dak could throw the ball like the elite passers at the expense of the team. Daks value is in throwing the ball 20 to 25 times and making the occasional athletic play on third down to move the chains. His value is not in throwing 35 or more times a game and asking him to win the game for you, he can not do it and the team can not handle going 3 and out and playing more defense.

that is some straight, hardcore truth there.

Well said.

LOL Yeah. Its all on Dak. I forgot. You were real quiet most of the year and were waiting for him to fail. Its embarrassing.
He hasn’t been quite at all this season. Every week he is here expressing his opinions and it just so happens that he has been right more than wrong. Dak has struggled very bad in the red zone and some of it is directly because of his play.

Can we not direct at least a little blame Kellen Moore's way? His inexperience as an offensive coordinator may have a hand in this.

The Cowboys are on pace to shatter franchise records for total yards. But it's also clear Moore is struggling to dial up the right plays at the right time lately.

Simple, we start on offense because we dont defer, the opponent adjusts after they see what we want to do, we do not, they have their way w us, then its garbage time.

Gotta love Garrett, a perfect example of how to do less with more.

I’m betting heavily that that trend continues against the Rams

Result of stubbornly not adjusting at halftime.

It seems like so long ago when Dallas had a stretch of games without even an incomplete pass in the third quarter and outscored opponents something like 35-10 if I remember correctly.

The Ravens have looked great over the last three, but I meant our beloved Cowboys.

Top 5 Offenses
(points per drive)
1 Baltimore
2 Kansas City
3 Minnesota
4 Dallas
5 Houston

Never use total yards to judge an offense.
I never doubt you. Will you explain why this is the best way to judge offense and defense?

I think you have before, but I can’t recall.

Points instead of yards because yards don't win games, points do.

Points per drive instead of "points for" because the latter includes return scores and doesn't account for how many opportunities (possessions) the offense has.

It's the best because it correlates the most strongly to wins.

Bills: Zeke had 8 carries in the first quarter. Cowboys 7, Bills 0

4 combined for the 2nd and 3rd quarters (23 straight points for the Bills)

Bears: Zeke had 9 carries in the first quarter. Cowboys 7, Bears 0

8 combined for the 2nd and 3rd quarters (24 straight points for the Bears)

Go away from what's working, get pass happy, fall behind, get even more pass happy. Genius.

Seems they forgot that in order to win games we must run the ball with Zeke and set up play action for Dak a la 2016.
The 400 yard games from Dak don’t help us out one bit,

Agreed.
Much better to fall behind by 14-17 points and then rack up scores against prevent defenses late in the game.....

:muttley:

What's worse is the defense giving up 23 points to the Bills and 24 to the Bears during those 2nd and 3rd quarters.

Both teams average fewer points than that for an entire game. #Hotboyz

One hand washes the other

Defense won't hold for long when your offense goes 3 and out repeatedly
