I’m not a fan of Mike McCarthy coaching this team at all.

Other then that I agree with most of what is said in this video.

Same here. I'm not sure if McCarthy will get another head coaching job, but I sure can't see it being here.

I'm not sure I agree with them about the 'Payton conspiracy' stuff. I think he signed an extension because he wants to stay in New Orleans and believes in them long term. I wish it wasn't so, but I think it is.

I think Meyer is the guy and the best choice, all things considered. Certainly the best choice not to get run over by the owner. He has left places before and would do so again.

Agreed on McCarthy. No Thanks.

He should have had a lot more success than he did with a generational talent like Aaron Rodgers

Maybe those 300,000 plus owners are all meddlesome and create a toxic environment with weekly radio shows and undercutting the coach.

Why does anyone think Payton would leave the Saints or want to go into a situation where he has significantly less control than in his current job?

Because Pro and College coaches are ego maniacs and the Cowboys would be a dream job for these type of people.

It’s funny how everyone wants Sean Payton but Mike McCarthy only won 1 Super Bowl so he’s not good enough. They both had Elite QB’s. In fact , the saints have had the better overall teams. McCarthy is 18-10 in the playoffs.

I know in 2016 the Cowboys were a better overall team than the Packers. The packers defense was atrocious. The deference in that game was you saw one team was ready to play and the other team wasn’t.

me neither, nor do I get the claim that jeri loves Payton

I wish I had made a copy of the video when I saw it but years ago I saw an interview where jeri was very dismissive of Payton and called him a goofball and it wasn't in a joking way. If he was so enamored with Sean, he could have convinced him to takeover after Parcells.

I dont recall reading or hearing anything from jeri that could be construed as interest in him as a coach

having said that, I do my best to avoid reading, watching or hearing anything jeri says for the last 10+ years so I easily could have missed it

I think you clearly have. Jones and Payton have actually maintained a close relationship while he's coached the Saints. Make no mistake that Jones would hire him in a heartbeat if it were possible.

I think Meyer is waiting for an offer as soon as Dallas is eliminated this season. I’d say he’s hired within two days of the end of our season.

Agree about Meyers but think there's a dark horse .........no idea who he is but knowing Jerry, there's likely at one or two names no ones talking about.

Leaving a city where he is revered by the community in favor of coaching a worse team and working for an owner that would limit his control to a level dramatically less than he currently enjoys? THAT'S a dream job?

Besides, Sean Payton signed a big contract extension this year that likely makes he at or near the highest paid coach in the NFL, and there isn't any reason to believe he would want to walk away from that, or that the Saints would allow him walk away from it.

Because if you watch the football games you see 1 coach making a difference and another along for the ride.

Brian Billick won 1 Superbowl too. He's terrible.

Jason Garrett could've easily lucked into a Superbowl here with some of the roster's he's had. It still doesn't make him a good gameday coach.

Again.. Coaches are ego maniacs and this is the most valuable franchise in all of sports.

Dallas can get anyone they want. The problem is Jerry wants a guy he can control and that is thankful to him for having this job like Jason Garrett.

I hope Jerry does not trade away draft picks for Sean Payton. Find a coach that's available and hire him. I cannot believe Payton is the only or the best candidate for the Cowboys job.

Mike McCarthy will make this team better simply because he will do a better job of having the team prepared and he will make better game decisions. Then again, any coach will improve Dallas in those areas. But McCarthy doesn't wow me either.

I really don't know enough about Urban Meyer and his coaching style to feel one way or the other. Being a successful college coach is not a guarantee of NFL success. As college coaches go, the guy at Baylor intrigues me more.

But at the end of the day, Garrett has to go. That step alone is evidence of a will to improve on Jerry's part. But he better be willing to pull the trigger on the next coach in less than 10 years if this one does not work out. I don't have time to wait another 10-15 years for a Super Bowl and I doubt Jerry does either.
