Would you sign Dak for 5-years, $175 million?

Nope. I wanna see him under the new HC system. Tag is the only option I'd consider if I were GM right now.

However, hypothetically speaking, if I were to consider it, there is a lot more to contracts that just the years and the money. How much of it is guaranteed? Cap hits?

I think it's a sound strategy to tag him and let the new coach decide as well.

Assuming a good bit of guaranteed money such that you are absolutely tied to him for at least 3 years . . . nope.

Tag him and see how he does under a different coach. I would rather give him $45m per year after he wins a super bowl than give him $35m in hopes that he can make the conference finals.

I would franchise him and try to find his replacement in the draft.

Dak just runs the offense. He's a heck of a player but he's terrible value at a high number just like most of these overpaid QB's right now.

Dak doesn't elevate anyone on this team and I think with that kind of money you should be able to elevate your team to wins instead of being along for the ride.

Zeke has struggled this year so guess what.. The Cowboys have struggled this year.... Dak has done nothing to help or hurt this team. He's just out there.

I am in on this deal. In 2 or 3 years this will l look cheap, but I would try to sign him to a longer term deal if possible.

I'm more positive on Dak than a lot of people, but the new head coach has to have real power or it's just going to be the same crap all over again.

And that means they decide.

100% agree.

If the new coach wants Dak then i'm all for it. Dak deserves that.

Don't go looking for a new coach that believes in Dak. Build this thing around a high profile coach and not a game manager QB.

I wonder if it is smarter to not give out any big contracts and rebuild as opposed to paying this group and trying to win with them. Dak is a good QB so it would be hard to part with him but I also don't see the current collection of players being just a coach away. There is a toxic environment here that might need to be gutted rather than just shined up a bit. I don't think Dak is part of the problem but it's hard to rebuild when your QB is making $35-40 million.
