Many fans were begging for a change from the offense. I personally liked 250 yards control the ball Smash Mouth. It kept the defense off the field longer first of all.Now they’re exposed because they really truly weren’t that good. Was it because they were the youngest starting defense in the league I don’t know. I don’t like anything that came with the changes of the season. Frustrated like most go cowboys

None of this petty BS matters anymore. No one should be absolved of blame, and no one should truly be judged until we get real coaching and a real culture here in Dallas.

This entire team is pathetic all the way from top to bottom.

I know. But it’s allowing the defense to be exposed there on the field too often. I’d rather go back to smash mouth. I want to do anything that’s working other than what we’re doing LOL

Then it still points to an obvious weakness with the defense, doesn't it?

Look no further than the past two losses, the offense started the game with a dominating scoring drive for a touchdown. They controlled the clock and "protected the defense" as well as anyone could. How did that defense answer? They **** the bed and got walked all over and forced the offense to become one-dimensional.

No, there's no denying it any longer. The Cowboys defense sucks and requires a complete overhaul.

That defense held the Saints to 4 FG 12 points how many did our Franchise QB put up?

I forget he can only beat DOG teams!!!!

I'm puzzled by the early abandonment of the run game. To your point, in the Bears game--it became quickly apparent that our defense was not up to the task that night. I'll make no defense of our D in that Bears game. They were atrocious.

To me, that's the time you want to double down on Zeke and try to grind out a 20-17 type win by keeping their offense off the field as much as possible with long drives. zeke had a great first drive then the minute we went down a score, they pretty much went away from him when there was still plenty of time to re-establish some physicality.

Whoever is responsible for that--whether it's Moore calling the plays or Dak changing them, it's an issue.
IMO--Dak is not a guy that is going to win you a bunch of shootouts. That's not an attempt at a bash on him, just how I honestly see him.

Funny because once the Cowboys got down big I said on the live thread that some fans are going to wonder why we abandon the run game.

And here you are doing just that.

You seem to lack a grasp of simple concepts. When you get down big, you tend to go away from the run. There was something like 5 drives in a row where it was pretty much 3 and out. On most of those drives, it was Zeke getting stuffed early.

When did I say that?
I said when we went down 1 score, we should have tried to slow the game down and grind it out. Re-read the post. Clear as day.

You're either intentionally being a liar, or you're functionally illiterate.
Either way, not my problem. Get your facts straight. I welcome intelligent debate. I don't welcome people putting words in my mouth that aren't accurate.

We have to break the season into two parts with this offenses. For the first 10 games, the offense was very effective. There wasn't much garbage times yardage accumulation because the Cowboys were in most of those games or at least were moving the football. The Green Bay game was the only one where they fell behind by a lot early. But in that game they were running and throwing effectively. But they kept giving up the ball or committing stupid penalties to kill drives. The Vikings game was close too. The Vikings are a really good defense and the Cowboys moved the ball well on them. They had to throw it but it was working because the Vikings were giving up the passing game to stop the run.

But the last 3 games, particularly the last 2, the offense has been almost as putrid as the defense. I blame Dak for most of that. He has regressed to the Dak with poor mechanics and it shows. But there have also been dropped passes, poor blocking, penalties and some bad play calling. They gave up on the run too soon against both the Bills and the Bears. I thinks it more than just good defense. The Vikings have a good defense and the Cowboys did okay against them. The Redzone offense which was so good early int he year has been horrible. It like they get inside the 15 yard line and have no idea what to do next.

I think Dak's issues can be corrected. He just needs to focus on setting his feet when he throws. I also think they can adjust the play calling to help him out. Definitely run the ball more.

I think the problems on defense are going to be hard to resolve. They may be short a few horses on defense to ever been really good.

3 and out, 3 and out, 3 and out. LOL

What did you just look up at the run stats for the 2nd half of the game and not bother watching it?

Did you even WATCH the game?

I think the Cowboys would have been happy with more balance in the offense, but between falling behind and needing to pass to catch up in some games, and the almost total ineffectiveness of the run game in some games, the passing game was pushed more to the forefront.

He also needs to work on his presence under pressure. I understand every QB panics under pressure, but Dak has to be one of the worst. I think that Falcons game in 2017 messed him up. Anyways, Dak regresses when under the slightest amount of pressure. Footwork is off. Accuracy is off. Decision making is off. We cannot continue to wait on his development. He should be better under pressure by now.

Dude, honestly, you're not even making sense anymore.
you are jumping around so much trying to avoid admitting you made something up out of whole cloth....

It's entertaining, I'll admit.

Did you not say why you didn't understand why we went away from the run?

Do you want me to explain it to you again? I will take the time. Even though its very very obvious if you watched the game.

I said I didn't understand why we went away from the run when it was still a tight game.
You are talking bout going away from the run down 20 points in the 2nd half. Big difference.

You don't have to explain a statement to me that I never made.

20 points? LOL Another desperate exaggeration.

Actually, no one went away from anything completely. We just got largely shut down in everything we did in the middle half of the game.

By the end of the 2nd quarter, we were down by 10 points. They came out in the 3rd, got the ball and scored another TD to be down by 17.

So at what point was it close are you saying we abandon the run?

It was obvious in the game, that our defense was not stopping the Bears. So we had to get aggressive. Zeke and his 3 yards and a cloud of dust wasn't going to cut it once we got down 10 points. Which was in the 2nd quarter.

I'm not blaming the offense for the defense's failings. If anything, I consider it the other way around. The defense allowing teams to march up and down the field and score has taken Zeke and the running game out of games this year.

This defense is abysmal. It has been from week 1 when they gave up 500 yards of offense to the Giants, but the Usual Suspects downplayed it then too.

While this is true, the last three games played, we have scored a grand total of 20 points in the first three quarters of the games combined. This is not a sign of a good offense.

The score at half of these last three games.
17-7 Bears
13-7 Bills
10-6 Patriots

The offense isn't even good when the games are close.
