Would you sign Dak for 5-years, $175 million?

You may be right. I'm mixed on Jones.
I don't put all the blame of our secondaries lack of turnovers on the skill level of the guys as much as I put it on the scheme that is not innovative at all. Watching Sam Darnold carve us up like a thanksgiving turkey was pretty bad. We just line up and "beat your man". That crap hasnt worked at this level in a long time. Turnovers come from scheme and making the QB see ghost.

I just dont know what we have when we don't have a coaching staff equipped to put players in positions to succeed.

That said I am not giving him a franchise level contract. He can walk before I do that.
Jones' best yr came as his only yr playing fs 2016 iN 2017 they moved him to SS because Heath was bad at SS.

I would franchise him and try to find his replacement in the draft.

Dak just runs the offense. He's a heck of a player but he's terrible value at a high number just like most of these overpaid QB's right now.

Dak doesn't elevate anyone on this team and I think with that kind of money you should be able to elevate your team to wins instead of being along for the ride.

Zeke has struggled this year so guess what.. The Cowboys have struggled this year.... Dak has done nothing to help or hurt this team. He's just out there.
He doesnt elevate anyone? So explain Cooper's resurgence since coming here. I mean Derek Carr is better than Dak yet Cooper failed with him. So whats the difference?

Simply not true.
Cooper was a 1000 yard receiver both his first 2 years in Oakland with Carr.

And check Dak's stat line the first half of 2018 before Coop showed up.
He only surpassed 200 yards passing in 3 of the first 7 games before AC walked through the door in 2018.

Cooper helped Dak, significantly more than Dak helped Cooper.

I'm not sure who scares you from resigning?
Amari Cooper? You think we can do better in free agency?
Byron Jones? Again do you think we can do better in free agency?
Quinn? He is probably leaving anyway for money.

Other than these 2 and Dak the rest of the guys who are in need of a contract are replaceable type of players.
I don't think any of us would be upset switching out some of the lower tier parts.

I'm not paying Byron Jones. He simply isn't worth the huge contract he and his agent will be looking for and I can get my 0 interceptions for the year much cheaper.

Do you want to give us the names of the receivers that Prescott did have prior to Cooper?

Hint:

Don't look for them on current NFL rosters.

Cooper had 280 Yards in 8 games before coming to Dallas and having Dak as his QB. But Cooper made Dak better. LOL.

I think it's both personally, but I just shoot holes in this narrative that Dak doesn't help anybody.

Look, I don't care which side of the Dak camp you are in (admittedly, I'm in the camp that thinks he's a mediocre starting QB), but it would be plain stupid to extend him now and force him on the next coaching staff. Under no circumstance do I extend him until the next coach gives his blessing.

Well there’s Gallup and Beasley that were both there

Are either of those guys currently on an NFL roster? I could’ve sworn I just saw Beasley recently torch us on our own field but my memory is not what it used to be LOL

End of the day I don’t give a hoot who your receivers are, if you’re a starting NFL quarterback you should be able to throw for 200 yards in your sleep almost every week.

Right so Cooper had a bad stretch the first half of 2018 and he’s garbage. Prescott had a bad stretch the first half of 2018 And we need to pay him $40 million a year

Got it

By the way Prescott sucked pretty much all of 2017 as well. Cooper didn’t

2017? Right. You mean the year when we were missing our starting LT and RB? And the coaching staff allowed prescott to be sacked a billion times in one game by a JAG? Yeah. Cool story bro

Per my response above I wouldn’t use the first half of 2018 as a bellwether If your goal is to make Prescott look good

More than half the games he was under 200 yards. For an NFL quarterback that’s abominably bad

All aboard the excuse train, leaving the station!

Just curious why no excuse train for AC? Don’t bother answering we both know why

For a top 5 WR that many claim him to be. 280 yards in 8 games is horrible.

What was his excuse? Same team around him. Needed a change of scenery? lol. He had the same QB who is supposedly better than Dak. So how come with the better QB he put up lesser stats?
