His passing and mechanics are much improved imagine if the defense stopped somebody and gave him a few more opportunities

Dak's progress as an all-around quarterback will go unnoticed due to the Cowboys' sub-par record. He's had some bad games as all QB's do, but I feel more confident about him as a franchise passer now than I did a year ago.

I know many will disagree and that's fine. I'm just sharing my opinion.

I think Dak showed the biggest improvement this year followed by Micheal Gallup and Collins .
Also Robert Quinn was a bright spot and Jason Witten after a year off was still Jason Witten

That said The defense regressed horrifically almost unbelievable what happened to our tackling .

The Oline is certainly not the dominant run blocking unit it once was. Zeke isnt bad but after watching Barkley the other night Zekes conditioning is not what I was expecting for an elite RB

Special teams has never been a strong point but this year is a new low

The ineptness of our coaching staff has only been outdone buy our kicking game What do you guys have ??
cannot disagree with any of your assessment....the defense and tackling and Zeke..man it is not because he was in Cabo that he is not conditioned...with exception of right tackle Collins ..everyone we paid this year disgressed a lot..someone said..the issue is this is no longer a team but a bunch of good to great players more concerned with "their brand" like Jerry is with Cowboys.....made me think?

I think we also found out another problem is the culture within Dallas. Our players don't really care about winning as much as they do about social media, stats, likes, etc. This is a league wide problem, but its special within Dallas.

You really need this explained to you grandpa? Passing yards is figured into passer rating. Has your geriatric brain not noticed the increased interceptions and lower completion percentage that go along with all those passing yards? I’ll say it again to cut through the fog in your brain: 14th in passer rating last year, 13th in passer rating this year.. and dropping. Go to bed old man, and take your pills this time.

Guess what? There’s NOTHING I need “explained” by a dunce like you.

You couldn’t BUY a clue.

We seem on course to finally get rid of Garrett.
That's the improvement that has to happen before anything else will matter.

Say it slowly troll:
14th last year
13th this year
So much for your grand improvement, troll. Next time take your meds and remember the season is 16 games long and not 3.

And you remember the stats I showed. Which include ALL GAMES TO THIS POINT. That is if you can still see them through those tears you must still be crying.

Yes besides Collins I really expected more from the Oline . In looking at game film from 16 they just are not getting the explosive push that they were then . They were pancakeing guys to the ground now they are getting stood up and allowing penetration and after watching Barkley the other night Zeke looks more than a step slow . Was really expecting our LBs to be a strength and just wow what a disappointment .

Yep I sure seems like many are more concerned with marketing themselves than doing what it takes to win a championship

You are exactly right because of the teams record Daks hard work last off season will be overlooked . No matter how hard Dak works to improve his game he can not overcome a complete regression in almost every other facet of the game like this team has experienced this year .

Every Analyst in the football watching world has blasted our coaching and how bad it is . Game film shows our Oline to be a shadow of its run blocking self . Zeke a step slow after you watch Barkley . Special teams have historically never been very good but this year sheesh its a new low

The kicking game is the worst I have seen it. Dan Bailey really having spoiled us in his prime like 30 pts left out there and a couple games lost to kicking . Can we tackle anybody , how about just not getting a stupid penalty and be able to get off the field . I wont even go into getting Turnovers because that something that just happens for other teams . Our Defense seems to be best at giving our Offense the least # of opportunities to work with .

Put all this together and it is very suprising Dak is having as good a season as he is . He , Amari , Gallup , Jarwin and a few others are trying to hold serve and make up for everyone elses regression . Not an easy task .

The short bus group will continue to bash Dak because its all they have but we are getting extremely good value and a complete effort from a 4th round pick that was selected as an after thought and never intended to be our franchise QB.
The group of total FOOLS that make there living here on the forum bashing Dak act like we had prepared for years for the end of Tonys career and used a top 5 1st round pick on Dak so he should be a turnkey finish product that gives Joe Montana performance every year . Jerry fell into a bucket of Crap with Tonys health and Dak brought him out smelling like roses . We should all be very thankful things QB wise turned out as good as they have .

IF THE REST OF THE TEAM WAS AS GOOD AND WORKED AS HARD AS DAK WE WOULD HAVE THE DIVISION CLINCHED NOW!!!!!

Well he’s 13th in passer rating this year, which technically is “improved” from his 14th last year, so I guess there’s that. We’ll just leave out the little fact that relative to the rest of the league, his passer rating is worse than it was last year.
This is what happens when Dak slobberers stop watching after the first three weeks against tomato cans, they think he’s the “MVP” still.
So is that it? Are you willing to stick to Passer Rating as the stat to evaluate a QB. Specifically Dak? If so, that’s fair.

Just please don’t continue to change your argument like the others.

Just for complete transparency can you assure me I can’t look in the past and find examples of you downplaying the importance of Passer rating?

I’ll guess qbr is a bad stat to you. Regardless of whether mvp candidates are doing better in that than passer rating.

Why do I get the feeling you’re not up to answering my questions to you today? Maybe tomorrow?

Ok. You’re calling people names like you usually do and now touting passer rating as the stat.

I’ve asked you 3 times now. Can you please answer or does answering for some reason irritate you?

Are you willing to now stick with passer rating as a good indicator of being a good QB?
Have you downplayed Passer rating in the past?

Do you realize the leading mvp guys have a better qbr?

Dak
Gallup
Connor Williams
La'el (although he still has some bad games)

Many have the potential to improve with better coaching/schemes.

Agreed some good coaching and a kicker this is a 10 win team about now Hard to find a lot of bright spots this year but I will have to give Amari Cooper a shout as he has tried to suck it up and play through a bunch of injuries this year

If the Cowboys had started their season by playing the Rams, Bills, Patriots, and Bears the first 4 games, this discussion would be quite different.

La'el Collins made giant strides
Daks mechanics and pocket awareness
Pass Blocking
Michael Gallup's chemistry with Dak
Connor Williams improved a little but not enough

Too bad nothing improved on defense.
