That’s why I specifically mentioned the defense.

I’m glad we’re #1 on offense though I can point that out to all the people laughing at the state of the team and to the fans of teams who actually have a shot at winning the SB. Great.

You do know offense is based off of yards, right? Yards mean nothing, at least not to me. If our yards don’t lead to points, they are pointless. We are terrible in the end zone, and good offenses are NOT terrible in the end zone. On top of that, these last 3 games are empty calorie yard games. Dak throwing for 200+ in the 4th Q against the Bills and Bears means nothing because we were down by so much until garbage time. Our offense is good when it wants to be, but to call it the #1 offense because the NFL ranks offenses by yards is ridiculous. This #1 offense is 6-7.

Lets think about that for a minute. What would it take for the Browns to win a SB? How bout the team gets sold, moves to Baltimore, changes it's name to the Ravens, and has a new owner who lets his coach do what needs to be done to win. And with a not so talented QB I may add. How do you think the Browns fans felt?

Yes, sometimes I wish Jerry would sell this team, but I would not want to see them leave Texas...

I do know how it works. What i am saying is the talent is there. Thats all. Defense needs a leader. Jamal Adams come on down.

How do you judge talent? Based on potential or performance? Performance, for me.

And it's team, not individual players. It's the entire package including the DT's, LB's and S's on the D and the inconsistent OL and there's not a top 10 TE on the roster.

Most expected this D to be better because they expected the young players at LB and the secondary to improve, they didn't, they did not play as well as last year.

Performance is influenced by coaching.

Yes, the talent is top-5 in the NFL. I said that conservatively. When healthy, the holes on this roster are smaller than pretty much every other team.

Like all of what you're saying applies to...29 teams.

It's idiotic in the sense that there's no way to look at this team relative to the rest of the league and think that more than a handful of teams have more pure talent. I don't know what you can be possibly watching to think that.

How can it possibly be overhyped? This is a fan base that pretty consistently thinks Dak isn't worth $30m, Zeke isn't a top-5 RB, there are 20 edge players better than DLaw, and that Heath sucks.

"Talent " as if relates to football players, is 100% determined by how they play football. It doesn't have anything to do with potential. If someone has lots of potential, or a "high ceiling", that's unrealized potential...or potential talent. It isn't unrealized talent.

If a player has a great year, then he blows the following year. He was talented, now he's not.

You also don't waste your talent, you waste your potential.

Same thing applies to a team.

With all the "so and so sucks" threads, I'm surprised anyone on this forum thinks this team has any talent on its roster.

Aikman is right to a point. It's not a top tier team but could be better with better coaching.

Jerry strained that relationship when he shoved TO down Parcells throat. Jerry has not given any coach that much control since then. I'm assuming nothing here. Jerry has been incapable of staying the hell out of his coaches business, PERIOD...

When I talk about Jerry's "product", I'm talking about throwing your $$ away of tickets, travel, apparel, etc. I haven't spent a penny on anything Cowboys in years. Yes, I'm a Cowboy fan first and foremost, not a Jerry Jones fan. I care nothing about Jerry's ivory towers, jet or silver spoons. And the last thing I do anymore is take stock in anything Jerry says. Jerry has no credibility as far as I'm concerned...
