Even if there wasn't a Rooney Rule it wouldn't make sense for Urban to come in now. Why would he even want to?

This is JG's team, for better or worse. Hopefully it'll be his last.

This, and then there is the simple fact that because some fans want Meyer that doesn't somehow mean Meyer is the only coach on the Cowboys list of candidates.

I guess you don't give it that of a chance but would you like him here? Or to put it in another way, assuming that Meyer was hired, would he have the independence to coach this team?

Let me get this out of the way..this idea is not a realistic approach..urban wouldn't accept the job under these circumstances anyway

However, to suggest that the rooney rule is the reason why this idea isn't a good one is laughable...it takes half of a day at most to clear the rooney rule..

But could you name him interm coach without the Rooney Rule? I'm not saying permanently side-step it, I believe in the Rooney rule although I've said it needs to be enforced more simply interviewing a minority coach satisfies that rule so I believe it's pretty lame

No, because it's absolutely stupid. For starters, you wouldn't even be able to properly evaluate personal. Meyer wouldn't be able to install his offense, because I don't know, it's December. And on top of it, the team would be completely noncompetitive because the guy making the decisions, doesn't know **** about them. This would be stupid on top of stupid, with a side of stupid.

I think we should seriously look at 49ers defensive coordinator that would take us in the direction of a defensive coach what I like what I see in him young open minded has those guys playing their rears off, with the exception of the Saints hanging those points on them but that happens at times I don't care how good your defense is unless you're talking about the old Ravens defense and that's an anomaly in my opinion
