What if Meyer walks away?

I’m thinking not unless Jerry interested someone else,or if they can’t work together. There’s no rush though...it’s all there on the table for people to make their pitch.

But if they were to say hire somebody from in house? I would hate it.

Jerry isn’t hiring from within because of there was someone who he had that much faith in Garrett would already be gone and that guy would be running the show now.

I've been saying it all along, including in the "how will you celebrate" thread. I want to see who Jerry hires next.

It's not like this team was doing great and then JG came along. The 23+ year drought was already in full swing.

Same here. We could end up right back in that 'Wade Phillips' boat.

One thing I can take comfort in? The next coach won't be extended family that gets far more time than he should because of feelings. He will have to earn his way.

How can something we really don't know is even a true possibility be a big deal if it doesn't happen? Even so, I'm not under the illusion that Urban Meyer is the only high quality football coach in the world.

Riley doesnt get credit. He can command a room. That is for sure. I worry about defense though.

i'd much rather take that another " Wade Phillips' chance than continue with the current status quo.

The only way that could happen is if it is a college coach and since they have such a dismal record as 1st time NFL head coaches I wouldn't hold my breath on that. He can't have a handshake deal with a NFL coach right now because that would be tampering and the loss of 1 or more draft picks. Maybe we should just wait and see what happens instead of making foolish prediction.

I'd like to see Ron Rivera here too. But from what I'm reading, looks like the Giants might snatch him up first. They would probably be a good fit for him...

Yeah he would need a strong DC for sure. Rivera would be nice for that role.

He may get another HC gig though.

For me, if all of this smoke doesn't materialize in his hiring I will be extremely disappointed and resigned to the fact that Jerry Jones would not make the needed concessions and loosening of his death grip.

I think they're just as good if not better coaches out there it all depends on what Jerry is going to give up or concede on? Because if he doesn't I don't see it getting any better
