How is anyone surprised by this? Every off-season, Jerry says, "this" and "that." Everyone swallows it. The media takes it and talks about how great Dallas is going to be. Then by December, everyone does nothing but talk about how bad and over-rated they are. /rinserepeat
Yep .. it’s a vicious cycle .

Been a banner year for the dude. I posted that there isn't a top 5 player at any position on roster, garrett, etc.

Far out
We over rate a lot of things but because it’s our team and our players we are a little more biased because we want them to be good.

He's the only owner that talks to the media constantly and if you choose to google it you will find quite a few interviews where he mentions all the talent. The spectacle signing a good for one year linebacker to the team this off season as if he's lebron james. The Ezekiel Elliott contract and the mess that was. Cowboys are a draw for ratings period. He does his job selling his team well. Not sure why that even needs to be said to a cowboy fan.

I rarely, if ever, listen to him and in the few instances I find myself enduring whatever nonsense is coming out his mouth, it never sells me on anything other than how woefully deficient the Cowboys are at GM. Small sample size but no one I know wastes time listening to him and are never "sold" by anything he says either. We're fans in spite of him but never because of him so thats why "it needs to be said to a Cowboy fan"

But if I understand you correctly, when you listen to jeri, you are swayed by whatever he says and perhaps go from being unsure about the team to optimistic solely because jeri "sold" you, is that right?

If so, thats fine and dandy with me, I've been wanting to chat with folks who hold this view because I've never met someone who feels this way.

Personally, I never get any comfort from anything he says so he's never sold me on jack squat. In fact, he's personally responsible for keeping me from spending potentially hundred's of thousands of dollars on this team over the last 25 years solely because of how he chooses to run the organization.

And signing players is merely the business of the NFL, its not selling anything. Fans may choose to get exited about a player because thats what fans do, not because jeri performed some magical voodoo sell on them.

The whole "jeri is a great marketer and salesman" is a farce imo because "selling" to us idiot Cowboy fans is like shooting fish in a barrel.

I’m curious why people keep saying we have this loaded roster to begin with? Offense there’s talent, even that is an inconsistent margin. Like did I miss something this season? They’ve farted at every darn opportunity. I’m not real impressed with the roster at all now. Few good pieces, but I wouldn’t die if they turned it over.

The Cowboys have the unique shine of always being overrated.

That is because they are marketed like a first class franchise where everything is top notch.

Except the executive leadership.

Overrated does not mean it isn't a talented roster. In fact, Aikman says at the end of that statement that most believe it's a REALLY talented roster.

My feeling is that it wouldn't be viewed at overrated if the coaches were maximizing the talent.

I could say a specific Cowboys Cheerleader is the most beautiful woman ever.

I would be over-rating the young lady but that does not mean that she is not hot.

Aikman didn't call CouchCoach but someone did call and hang up, could have been him, he looks like a closet prankster. But I concur, I think all of that most talented roster is a load of horsepookie.
Just don't call CouchCoach late for Dinner...
