I love Mitch as a prospect, but he had a ways to go to get up to speed strength wise. Did he already get there? Hard to believe.

He was terrible in the preseason.

Connor Williams was playing really well before the injury. Legit starting OG caliber of play.

I think he's a guy who we want to see after a year of bulking up. Him being called up is likely more about having Wilson's replacement already on the 53 and being a little beat up on the OL.

With Connor Williams going to IR they had an open OL spot from a numbers perspective. Had they they added any OL since both CE and Redmond went to IR?

Knight and Fleming can play OG. Knight played the majority of the preseason at OG:; although I think it's more about retaining Hyatt than adding depth.

Cooper is injured and Wilson just went to IR. Smith has a good chance to be active.

I'd like to see the Cowboys make a couple more moves like this. Give guys a chance to play these last couple games. See what they have and if they have improved since preseason. Nothing is better for player evaluation than taking live snaps.

Thats why he was on the practice squad. But this is the time teams pluck guys off the PS and teams put guys on the 53 to keep them. Dallas must like him enough to keep him.

Smith is still on the 53. More likely to be gameday active than Hyatt, but only if they're in the mood to make sense for a change.

I completely need agree. Smith should not be active and Hyatt will simply be inactive on the 53 the rest of the year. This was to keep another team from signing him, not to play him. But it's a good sign for the kid a shame the team must see traits that they'd like to develop.
