The odds that we'll have fun this offseason and that the zone will be happy with the new coach. 5%

Put me in that 5%, I will be happy because my happiness doesn't depend on what these fools do. If I can't make fun of them about the HC, they'll give me something else. Actually something else's.

Cowboys fan says approximately 5-10 %
Jerry approximately 30-50%

Chances I remain Cowboys fan within next two years after being Cowboys fan more than 50 years is approximately 10-20%

Obviously these stats are not really known. But, it is evident that the Cowboys are stuck in a mediocre mindset.

Thoughts?

You been a Cowboys fan for 50 years?

He is not coming back even if he wins a couple of playoff games. The front office is ready to move on.

So, say by some miracle he gets to the SB.

And he comes back. How would that make you feel? Would the appearance be worth it?
As sick of his face as I am, you cannot get rid of a guy who was just in the Super Bowl.

But Jerry would be more emboldened than ever.

Ok, I'll agree to disagree, with this qualifier. He may get another offer at some point, and I consider even that slim. But I'll be very surprised if someone offers him a head coaching job for 2020.
I think he'd okay (if bland) as one of those ex-coaches they have on pre-game shows.

At least he doesn't sound like he drinks acid like John Fox did.

Garrett signs one year extension, keeps his dopey staff intact, let Dak walk, and boom you are in position for a brand new coaching staff and Trevor Lawrence in 2021.

its simple really.

Oh yeah, he's a good talker, always has been, and he knows exactly how to navigate the PC world so as not to offend or step on toes. If they're looking for a non-threatening, neutral, talking head, he's your man. Of course I don;t think he'd bring anything someone else doesn't already, but sure, if they need another guy? Yay Garrett!

So, what if we win out? Not at all likely, but what? We forgive and forget?

Win out as in Super Bowl champions? Of course. :muttley:

Win out as in 9-7 and another playoff loss? Adios, amigo.

------Chances that you're being dramatic.....100%

Nope...this time for the first time, people really mean it. When I see that Red Headed Jackass in pregame warm ups licking his fingers and throwing passes, its all I can do to keep from breaking the TV screen. The sight or sound of him actually sends me over the edge....I am #^^!)*( sick of rooting AGAINST the team I've loved for 45 years, just so I can pray the right thing is finally. I am done, if he comes back....call it drama...call me a liar....I don't care....I am telling you the truth...and I honestly believe others that are stating it too.

Unless we win the 2020 SB, I see no chance of Garrett returning as head coach for the Cowboys in 2020.

I understand completely the heartbreak our team has given fans for many years. But ( there's always a but), you and many other older fans were gifted by seeing your favorite team win 5 championships and in a very short period of time. By doing so, fans expect the team to continue playing at the same level they have in the past. Which is preposterous. I'm guilty as well.

My late Uncle was a huge Egals fan. Where am I going with this? He died of natural causes at the age of 76, in August 2017. The Egals won the Superbowl 6 months later. He never seen his team win it all.

Hang in there George, once a fan always a fan. It's in the blood. Fifty plus years is one dedicated fan and a fan whose seen all the glory which gave our Cowboys that infamous nickname, America's Team. Be happy & stay proud for seeing what the younger fans can only dream of.
