He's probably referring to Kingsbury, they had to hire his staff for him, he didn't have the contacts.
Yeah I didn't think about him I'm thinking he might be leaning towards McCarthy just have a gut feeling

Who is going to be easier to deal with? A college HC that doesn't need the job or a hungry HC out of work or a coordinator needing to move up the ladder?

And if you're a college coach, you come into the NFL with one strike against you and you were used to picking your own players. That's why Kelly pushed Lurie to circumvent the GM about personnel, his rep was on the line. He ruined it anyway but at least he did it his way.

If I was a hot college HC commodity, the Cowboys would be my 32nd choice because of the involvement of the Joneses, which is probably more than we even think it is. And he'd have to make sure he didn't make an enemy of the weasel, Booger's first born, who was responsible for Phillips' firing and I believe the "reliable source". He's Wormtongue.
Exactly that's going to be one strike against the new coach whoever it is coming in will be the Joneses that's why I've said and I've beat this horse to death many times that the culture has to change in Dallas and that starts with Jerry Jones if he changes the rest will fall in line but then again I wouldn't believe that because of what he did when Parcells was here, Parcells said he was on board with Owens coming in but I don't believe it

Well you did say this- "Jerry thinks he’s built a Super Bowl caliber Team not needing a Named HC like Bill to rebuild.". That sounds alot like you saying that Jerry doesn't need a great/super bowl coach to me.
Keep in mind I'm not arguing with you in regards to Jerry and his issues, I'm basically just disagreeing with you in the fact that Jerry has hit rock bottom and his mindset has likely changed somewhat. The freckled puppet experiment has blown up in Jerry's face at epic proportions. Never has he been made fun of at these lengths nationally.

I get why everyone thinks Jerry is stubborn and will likely continue with the same losing trends, but one has to believe that what goes down must come up or it just wilts away until there is nothing left, and that is where we're at.
I’m not sure Jerry thinks he’s hit rock bottom like when he hired Parcells after 3 straight 5-11 seasons needing practically a total rebuild.

I agree Jerry’s needs a great HC and even if he thought he did don’t believe his Ego will allow him to.

With a roster he thinks is SB caliber which not everyone would agree with he thinks he’s close enough to not need to give up any control with a Big Name HC.

Remember what I think Jerry should do and what I think he will do are not one in the same.

I’m not sure what you mean by nothing left . He has his stadium and #1 in revenue which has flourished in this mediocre era. We all might be frustrated but we obviously aren’t going anywhere. Anyway, Jerry thinks he’s close to finally putting the Jimmy demons behind him, he’s not about to wave the white flag yet.

Even in a best case scenario if Jerry hired a Myers type that doesn’t mean Jerry is giving up any control.

Myer would still need to coexist with Jerry’s dysfunctional style and try and influence where he could .

Jerry isn’t going to allow anyone else to be the face of the Cowboys. If he wasn’t giving it up for a back back SB Champion HC , he’s not giving it up for anyone.

Bottom line is what we really need is a HC who can make a difference on Game Day. That doesn’t necessarily need to be a Big Name guy.

Jerry is really in a bind. The script was written but the damn team didn't read it.

Garrett was supposed to take this "talented" team to the next step and advance well into the playoffs maybe even winning it all.

This would enable Jerry to extend Garrett long enough to give the heir apparent some more on the job training before taking over as head coach after three years as OC ensuring Jerry ten more years of having HIS guy taking his orders.

Comfortable for everyone and Jerry shows the world he was once again able to find the gem which was overlooked by the rest of the NFL world. Win, Win, Win.

Alas, the script was rewritten and Jerry has to decide between just giving Moore the job now, forcing him on the new HC or letting him go to become the next Landbardichick somewhere else.

I honestly believe this time it's different. He knows his days on this earth are numbered, he cannot wait 5 years to see another failure. He will make a good hire, and most importantly back off a bit.

I suspect this as well. I suspect he'll get a Parcells type coach and step back for a bit. He did last time for the new stadium. He'll probably do this as one last push.

There’s one problem in all of this some are ignoring.

This team probably isn’t good enough to win a championship regardless the HC.

It will be Kellen Moore. The job he's done as OC is irrelevant, just like his past performance has been irrelevant to his last two promotions. This has been the writing on the wall since he became QB coach and was proclaimed a genius...just like Garrett was.

Can't imagine even Jerry would have the balls to make Moore HC, but is he was so inclined, he could easily justify it since he's the OC of the #1 offense in the NFL.

Whoever it is, let's hope it doesn't turn out to be a meek and mild mannered puppet type of a HC that Jerry might prefer.

Whatever he’s about to do, it’s a guarantee that he’s doubling down on making “his way” happen. Hope I’m dead wrong but all the talk about JJ turning it over to Stephen and loosening his grip looks like a fan dream to me at this point.

I expect Jerry to either hire some unknown Chan Gailey-esque NFL assistant or a big name who is probably on the way down (like Parcells was) Either way, I don’t expect him to let his next HC be a real HC.

I wish Jerry would hire Matt Rhule and then back off and let him be a the real head coach. Rhule is this era’s Jimmy Johnson except he has more NFL experience. Rhule has been an assistant with the giants, has coached both sides of the ball in college, turned the Temple program completely around, then took a 1-11 Baylor team to the brink of a Big 12 championship in 3 years. He’s 44 years old and in excellent health.

Matt Rhule has made winners out of programs with way less talent. He’s a no-excuse disciplinarian who commands respect. Only two of our six HCs under Jerry have had this kind of leadership skill. Sadly, he’s the kind of coach we need but exactly the kind of guy Jerry is threatened by.

Our country is full of men who have created mediocre products , companies and service who have made billions. Think about the places and things you eat , drink and shop . Iconic labels just like the Cowboys in American culture often the most popular but not the best.

Even Jerry doesn't know what Jerry will do.

All we can do is wait and see and hope he doesn't f things up too bad.
