Why would they even put LVE back out there? Call it a year and let him heal, so he can get right...if that's possible.
Apparently we won’t know for a while what’s happening. They haven’t shut him down so not as bad as we think.

Well, on the radio they said they want to wait and let LVE's neck calm down, so I'm like why put him out there if all of that is necessary.

hated the pick

Have a little faith my man...He was knocking on the door of rookie of the year before Richard moved him from the middle. He was an absolute stud here in Boise playing MLB. Why on earth they moved him to begin with???? God only knows...Just look @ our history of making our top picks ...play out of position. Hopefully...they will get it figured out for the Eagles game. Personally...I think they have been saving him....trying to get him ready for the showdown...as to not aggravate that stinger any further.

If it’s a bulge of a disc then they will wait for the inflammation to go down. If it’s herniated he may need surgery. He could still play next year. Just depends.

If they think he's going to need surgery, make the determination and do it now to get him reader faster for next year. The longer he waits, the longer it will take him to get back into football shape and ready to play....

So get it over with.

Why do that when we can hope to be right in our negativity and contempt at picking him with a degenerative condition.

Internet points >>> fandom

Wasn't he a first round draft pick? If this turns out to be career threatening, and it was something they knew about before the draft. The decision makers will deserve any contempt that they receive from the fan base.

Hopefully it turns out good for everyone involved. LVE, the Team, and the fans.

Yup.
Recover fully.
Nothing to fight for this year.

Agreed............they should just IR him and reevaluate in the offseason.

I really dont know what is wrong, most reports just say its a neck issue. Does that mean a disk problem? Is it a degenerative problem? We just need some more info on what is wrong with the guy. My fear is that this is something he is going to have to deal with his whole career.

Vertigo is like a inner ear problem. But could for sure be a nerve problem from neck. I have several herniated and bulging discs. I have one between my collar bone and first rib that burns into shoulder blade and gives me heartburn that you can’t get rid of when inflamed. I call that nerve old faithful. It flares up every year or 2 for. month. Lol. 20 years or power lifting and heavy weights have taken its toll. Can’t imagine the car crash collisions these kids have as LB throughout a season or career.

Doubtful it's his neck. I'd wager it's something else. Could be viral. That's what they told me when I had vertigo about 3 years ago. It sucks, and I didn't immediately recover. The physical symptoms went away after sleeping for the better part of 2 or 3 days, but balance was a bit off for a number weeks.

So many people keep saying that, but you hope the players don't start believing it.

It's not true. The Rams game could be what determines whether they make the playoffs or not.

it really doesnt. Theyd be better getting healthy for the last 2

Its a stinger. He had a MRI and it was determined he needed to rest it but could be back if they need him. But why play him in a game that means nothing basically.
True what you say, despite the fact the fans want to see this team actually win a game, this game is truly meaningless.

If I may add to your assessment, the Steelers spent the 10th overall this year on Devin Bush, who has now been surpassed on the depth chart by Bud Dupree.
Just stating that immediate results from draft picks should never be expected.

Edholm would later report for Pro Football Weekly that the neck injury in question was a “stinger”, a common neck injury that led to a pinched nerve in Vander Esch’s neck. This occurred in his sophomore season; no structural damage was found and no significant concussion was suffered. Edholm also shared Vander Esch’s combine medical report, which was backed up by Ian Rapoport.

“The combine medical report gave Vander Esch a medical grade of 4 out of a possible 5 — the lower the number, the more concerning the player’s injury status is. A five would be a fully healthy player with no known medical issues; typically players are only red-flagged if they receiver lower than a 3 on the combine report.” - Eric Edholm
