Start at 5:50 for my point.

Some of you need to stop assuming the blame lies with one individual when reading these posts, but the guy handling the ball every down needs to not be a liability. It doesn't matter if our defense holds the Rams to 13 points or if special teams shows up, if you can't put up points and sustain drives it's not going to matter what the other "phases" of the team accomplish.

It’s pretty simple. No one gets a pass.

Noticed you conveniently contradict your own point by telling everyone to stop assuming the blame lies with ONE individual, and then follow up your diatribe by saying “BUT” to insinuate the individual culprit must be Dak. LOL

I think the Cowboys can def win this game if they simply cut the stupid plays. Penalties that kill drives and cancel big plays. And limit the drops.

please read

play calls can only take us so far, defense can only take us so far, same with special teams. The guy that handles the ball every down is the biggest factor in what happens with this team.

edit: if I have to reword it, then biggest reason =/= only reason...

it doesn’t matter how much points the defense gives up or if special teams actually do their job and help the team win the field position battle?

you do realize that “the guy that handles the ball every down” actually doesn’t play every snap. He in fact plays zero snaps on defense and special teams.

not gonna happen...

he gets all the credit for the value of the franchise...rightfully so
he should get all the credit for the field performance or lack thereof in the case...
turns out he's a far better scapegoater that Garrett..
the paying fans are the fools buying the yearly version of the snake oil he's been selling.

What Willie said is what lacks on this team under Garrett. FUNDAMENTALS. He has never been a guy to get back to basics. Practice the basics. Make these guys practice PROPER tackling techniques. If I were a HC I would force these guys to practice proper tackling technique. I wouldn't care if they liked me or thought this is beneath them. If I see them failing to tackle properly during a game, the next weeks practice will be all about that. Blocking, etc. If I see Dak being lazy in his mechanics, guess what he is going to be working on the following week? Garrett doesn't emphasis this and just "assumes" they are all pros and know this already. Work on the basic fundamentals. That is HOW you are going to get better.

The idiotic trope that the Cowboys LOVE to use:

"WE ARE GOING TO GET BETTER" is the dumbest trope of all time. I am sick and tired of hearing Dak say this, Garrett say this ad nauseam. HOW are you going to get better bozos???? Get back to basics. That is how.

The Cowboys have the worst starting field position in the NFL, so it does matter if the defense and special teams show up.

Expecting the offense to go 80 yards every time they have the ball is not realistic, but they do need to cash in on their opportunities. Obviously, that starts with Dak.

All true.

It's a team sport.

Penalties kill our drives. Clean that up and stop the 3rd and 20s.

Dak has gotten way better learning to throw the ball away but he still needs to run tons more to stop the defense more.

Just Dak running more would change everything for us.
