From the start, I've liked this kid. Yesterday was the icing on the cake for me.
Pollard:
12 rushes for 131 yards
Elliot:
24 rushes for 117 yards
To me, the kid is just better than Elliot. Don't get me wrong. I think Elliot is a good back (not work the big contract though). But I think Pollard gives the dynamic of the "break-away" run as evident in his TD run yesterday. If that was Elliot, he goes down or is caught from behind.
All true QD but the thing is the 2 jones boys have already given EE the big contract, and EE has star status, so who do you think they
want to get most of the carries??
Would they allow pollard to get more carries than elliot? No they cant because then they would look stupid for paying EE.
The jones boys will always demand that the guys they see as stars be on the field most of the time, just like witten still has a bigger role
than Jarwin even though he is clearly better than witten.
Pollard is going to be used in same way due to that, and really since he has to play for peanuts on his low rookie contract , it is better for him
to just be a part time RB.
The Rams are in a similar situation, they gave gurley too much, too soon moneywise, and now the coach has to use gurley even though he just
isnt good enough. The Rams should have kept OJ anderson and used him more than gurley.
This game gurley looked less than ordinary, I dont know who they have backing him up, but the bkup should have gone in early, and same
for Goff who hurt thumb or whatever looked awful. They would have done better with Bortles.
I remember the owners saying they wanted to use gurley more in SB, and not OJ last year, which probably cost them that game.
