Two mediocre giants teams have won the super bowl in the last 13 years so I could happen.

Last game was 37-10 Cowboys. Yeah, we have certainly had their number as of late. But in the NFL, the past is not a reliable predictor of the future. The Cowboys haven’t won two games in a row since games 7 and 8. I think this game is going to be a very physical low scoring battle.
If our boys follow the blueprint that seemed to work when we played the rams than it very well be a low scoring ball control game. The only thing that keeps me from thinking that though is philthy's secondary which is horrible.
There is one thing that came to mind though about this year and I think after winning so big the first few games got the team over confident so the wheels came flying off. There is a part of me that almost feels like the ups and downs of the season and knowing Garrett is gone, the team is going to go for broke and find some magic. Part of me believes they're truly tired of failing and ready to go on a mission and correct some of things that have plagued them. Sure i know Garrett is a huge liability, but it almost seems like the gears may be turning in a different direction so I'm very very interested to see how it all unfolds.

We just have to fight over confidence and comfort! This team needs to believe in itself and come prepared.

We should stop apologizing if we win the East. We underperformed expectations, but it was a tough schedule. If we get in, nobody’s going to be hoping they get Dallas. Most of those games we lost to good teams came down to a turnover. We’re healthy and have a complete roster. We just need to get in.
Troy said if we play like we did Sunday we’ll be a tough out at home.

And you’re right. All of those losses against the better playoff teams were close. Turnovers were the difference in most.

Saints and Seahawks impress me the most cause they have a proven SB Champion QB and good defenses. Packers are next for same reason but without as good of defense .

49 ers and Vikes both great defenses without proven QB’s. Then there’s the Cowboys without either a great defense or proven QB in playoffs .

I’m just not sure why I’d think we could make a run? But stranger things have happened in one game elimination format. We did play our playoff opponents tough this year except Bills so there’s that. We have to get off to fast start and no turnovers.

I’m not even sure we’ll perform well enough Sunday to win.

I remember the days when NFC championship was the super bowl
The AFC team was just for show before trophy ceremonies

For 13 years in a row. The only decent teams the AFC fielded were the '84 Dolphins and that Bills team. The only games that were in question going into the SB was that '84 matchup and the Giants/Bills SB. The other 11 Super Bowls were a foregone conclusion. At least in my opinion.

If the Eagles stack the line and box out Cooper they might have a chance. They have to hit Dak a lot early on to have a chance.
Their offense is too weak and erratic to put up big numbers, so their only hope is to play tough defense and wait for Dak to choke.
But if the game is forced into Dak's hands and they assign a corner to cover Jarwin while boxing out Cooper, Dak will likely shut down again.

Sunday’s game is an elimination game for Philly, it’s do or die for them so the Cowboys better be focused and ready to play. I can’t even remember the last time the Cowboys won on the road with the division title on the line.

Relatively speaking we are healthy, but our LB’s are a mess right now and the one that isn’t ailing isn’t very good.

After giving it a little thought the last time I can remember the Cowboys clinching the division title on the road was during the 1993 season against the Giants in New York. That was the game Emmitt ran all over the Giants with a separated shoulder. Here’s an interesting stat the Cowboys are 7-0 this season in games where they’ve scored 30 or more points and 0-7 in games where they’ve scored fewer than 30.

Realistically, it’s just as big of an elimination game for us. The Giants won’t beat Philly in week 17, and even if they miraculously did, I think it’s almost certain we’d get beat by the Skins after a crushing defeat by Philly.

Going on memory here...you are probably right about ‘93 being the last road win that clinched the division. I remember the 2008 division clinching game in filly where they embarrassed us 44-6. Then in 2013, we had that final home game against filly at AT&T Stayjum, when Romo was out and we lost 24-22.

This won’t be an easy one Sunday. I believe we have the most overall talent, they have some major injuries, etc. But strange things can happen in the City of Brotherly Shove. We haven’t won back to back games in about 6 weeks. It’s going to take an effort like last week. Can they do it?

It’s a lot bigger for them because if they lose they’re out. If we lose we still have a slim chance. It’s not a given that Philly beats the Giants in week 17 in NY because it took OT to beat them the last time. There’s going be a lot of pressure on Philly especially Carson Wentz who has yet to play in a playoff game.

I can’t think of another game where we clinched the division on the road at least not against a divisional opponent who had a lot riding on the game as well. The Giants gave our 93 team a real battle in week 17. That was one of our great teams and it took everything we had to win it. The Cowboys are going to have their hands full on Sunday against Philly. I know the Eagles are having their struggles but they’ve shown some real grit the last couple of weeks winning tight games they needed to win.

I don’t see it. But I also didn’t see them playing the way they did last week either. That’s why JG has to go. It’s a crap shoot out there every week. Every season. On and on.......
