yes the first one wasn't catchable but had Gallup made more effort and purposely ran into the safety trying to get to it, that can get a DPI for sure..he will be taught that in film study.. the other yes he stopped his route for no apparent reason but maybe thought the ball was gone already.. he pulled a Crayton lol

Did I miss something, did JG get fired already?

Just watched some all-22 and saw up close two weird plays by Gallup, which were noticed during the game but made even more obvious watching them again.

One was a bomb to the right. Not particularly well thrown, but Gallup made no effort at all to adjust and get near the ball. If the safety coming over had bothered to look up, he'd have an easy pick because Gallup wouldn't have been there to contest.

The other was a slant where he just pulled up, and Dak's sidearm throw was almost picked.

What did y'all think was going on for those plays?

We saw a ton of these plays by him last year, and also a few examples in the Green Bay game earlier this season

Good obs I noticed them too. He looked like he wasn’t going full speed.

I think people see some of the amazing catches he makes so they're surprised when he's not on top of every play, but like you said, he's still learning.
He will be a good one. Not sure we will be able to give him a contract if we keep Cooper..

Poor throw, but he's gotta play hard to get to that ball. As mentioned above, could potentially draw a PI if the safety doesn't turn. That attention to max effort on the little things is what championship teams do.

I am reminded of a year the immortal goat, Tom Brady, threw an interception in SD which would have ended their playoff run. But the receiver on the play hustled during the return, forced a fumble which was recovered, and they were able to complete the comeback. We need players with that never die attitude. Gallup seems like someone who could have that attitude, but we need to instill it in every player as part of the culture.
It allllll comes back to Garrett dont it.... ; )

He saw Ghosts on both plays. Ive seen him be more aware of contact this yr. Not willing to make the big catch the way Amari and Cobb will.

we have 25 other coaches more responsible for positional issues..i guarantee he was watching it on an ipad not 10mins after it happened on the sideline but for sure from the WR coach in the meeting room, teammates let you know about that..i bet he goes full out all day Sunday..

Interesting...
I wonder if that's the player he's always been.

Gallup and the rest of the receivers have been screwing up all season long, hence they lead the league in drops which is over 25 times at this time.
