This last game, season, stretch, is very familiar. Make it interesting-ish for the fanbase. Make it competitive. Make the playoffs as often as possible. Consistency from a franchise leadership perspective can really help your team consistently beat lesser opponents on a fairly routine basis and split with your peers. But the better teams will likely beat you more times than not if you cannot keep progressing.

This team, including its players, have likely gotten about as far as they will ever get (see year 2016). Go ahead and keep feeding the machine. If you actually cared about change, you would pull the plug till emperor Jones listened to the message. He is a fraud, and has sold you a fraudulent product for decades. The culture on this team seems to always skew towards his ultimate focus-entertain the masses (unless there is someone to overshadow him, see Parcells). It's not about performance ultimately for them other than occasionally getting into the postseason.

Garrett is getting axed soon, and someone that is lesser in NFL stature than Jones will get hired. Which will create similar culture results. Get ready for more mediocrity, try hard, and next to no playoff success. More of the same. Who cares to stay interested?

I'm sure most of us on this forum care, we wouldn't be here if we didn't. It is frustrating, I'll give you that.

A new Coach and perhaps a new QB and the hopes of a REAL defense would keep my attention

A new coach will still be a puppet of Jones. He still is and always will be an attention *****.

Here's one thing that was proven in the 90's. That Jimmy Johnson was the one that knew what he was doing.

I pretty much agree with everything you said but the fans rarely if ever show Jerry they are fed up. They continue to fill his palace every home game. Continue to buy tons of merchandise. Continue to give the team good TV ratings. What you need to see are empty seats, poor TV ratings, bags on the heads of fans at home games showing how embarrassing it can be to root for the garbage Jerry has served up to us for the past 25 years and possibly the most important, signs at games and petitions telling him what a joke of a GM he is.

Even then his ego is so inflated that he probably wouldn't notice or care

*waits for obligatory "What did Jimmy do in Miami?" line*

Jimmy's been fishing or hanging out in a TV studio for the last 20 years and he's won as many trophies as Jerry. :muttley:
