I think he'll want to play when its all said and done. I know Witten was great for many years and a true Cowboy but its time for Jarwin to step in.........I posted about this earlier in the year and go blasted but oh well. Its past time to move on....

I pray to god that he breaks the TD record this year so he can go bye bye. He is absolutely killing us out there. Trying to win in NFL with 40 year old skill players LOL give me a break.[/

Don’t tell New England and Tom Brady that.

No, I don't think Witten will be back next year -- his best days were already behind him when he opted to become an announcer.

I have no problem with him being on the team.

But it should be as a role player and a backup veteran leader, not a starter.
It should not be as a player. The culture has to change around here. The culture is what allowed him to come back and resume his starting role despite already being a player in decline when he retired the first time.

He could play QB, play Safety and be the GM of this team. That's how good he is.

It’s going to hinge quite a bit on whether there’s a new coach or not. New coach and I doubt he’s back. I think he really only came back, which he shouldn’t have IMO, because it was thought this team was a Super Bowl contender.

Loved his few bright moments, like the catch in the Rams game for the Touchdown. But no, he has shown this year that he cannot take a backup role. Jarwin should have been the lead TE this season.
Throw him a lollypop TD when we are being blown out next week, so he has the record, and let him retire to his family.
Thanks Jason, we'll call you in 5 years when its induction time. (And I hope he asks Romo to induct him !)

Sorry folks but I believe in some loyalty. I'm sure he had plenty of opportunities for greener pastures over the years. If it's me deciding he stays just as long as he wants to. The NFL should develop a salary cap rule that allows 1 or 2 players with, say, 10 years seniority on only one team to be retained without being subject to the cap. The cap has killed any thoughts of loyalty in this league.....
