Hopefully, this offseason we can find someone to take Zeke in a trade. That cap number is gonna get us. He’s a good player but there’s something about him that makes me think he’s not a winning type player. Could prolly get a first for him if KC loses in the playoffs.

Dak is not worth 30 mil or higher. I would have a long conversation about going in another direction next year. If not, offer a 3 yr 70 million deal to him and let a new coach come in and see if he’s the real deal or not. If he wants more, let him walk. That’s a fair deal.

Our oline, it’s time to trade Tyron Smith before he breaks. Tunsil, got you a first round pick, I’m thinking you can at least get a second for him. Martin and Collins are the core of the line now and we have to fill in around them while shedding some cap space.

Wr, we have to resign Cooper bcuz we gave up a 1 for him. He’s playing hurt now and is too proud to come out and admit it. You kinda have to like that in a way. When healthy, he is phenomenal.

Gallup, needs to work his butt off this off-season.

I like to keep Cobb too. Everyone else can be let go.

At TE, I hate to say this but Witten can still play in the league but he is holding Jarwin back. I think Jarwin can be a number 1 TE. He just needs the snaps. Witten should go to NE and try to get a ring. He’s such a Bill Belicheck type player and they need a TE.

On defense, I know Lawerence’s contract stings but he is a good player. A good DE is hard to find. He didn’t have the stats this year but we got to keep him.

Quinn, we need to hear how much he wants first.

Bennett, I’m all for resigning him. We need his attitude on the team.

DT is a big need across the board. Collins is a nice player but not to the contract he probably wants.

DB, With the play of and I can’t spell his name, Adwuise, we might have to resign Jones. Jones is solid and with no one to replace him and having no number 2 dB, we need to at least tag him or we will have nobody. Lewis is a slot corner.

LB, obviously, we are going to need some players there.

Safety, we need an upgrade there.

Defensively though, I think players were hurt bcuz of how soft we played. Everything was the same, rush 4 and play ten yards off.

Next coach and staff? Almost anybody will be an upgrade but everyone needs to be gone. Besides the big names, how about Bill Callahan? He can flat out coach. Look at what he did for our oline and how it hasn’t been the same since he left. He also is doing a very good job in Washington.

Solid post. I agree with just about all of it. Unfortunately I don't think we will get someone to take Zekes contract

If the QB doesn't have a cap crippling contract anything is possible. I dont like the age or production of the d line. I dont like the fundamentals or production of the secondary.

“But... but we have so much talent! It’s all the fault of the coaching!”

Give me a break. Our players are overrated and overhyped. We need to rebuild, or at least have a small one. Due to the crippling contracts we handed out, we need to build around D-Law and Jaylon Smith on the defense, and around Zeke on the offense.

Draft a QB that can get it done even when Zeke sucks (Mahomes, Jackson, Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, etc).

Get a good DE to compliment D-Law, and two stuffing DT’s. Draft a safety or get Jamal Adams in here. Our CB’s are okay, but the scheme needs to change. They need to track the ball, and stop playing tag football. They need a new coach. Linebackers worry me, but I’ll give them another year. They looked great last year and all of a sudden fell off? That makes no sense IMO.

O-line is fine, but if the rebuild takes too long, they will soon get old.

We need to blow up the WR core completely. Amari isn’t a #1. Gallup is fine, but drops too many passes. He could be a good #2 if he takes a cheap deal in the future. Cobb, I don’t know. He might retire soon, so we need another slot.

If I'm Jerry I am on the phone begging the Colts to take Dak Prescott for the rights to Andrew Luck. Then I call Andrew and say let's go win this thing. Could you imagine Andrew Luck on this team with a good head coach. I know I know he ain't coming out of retirement, but could you imagine. Woof. Good luck NFC.

Even if Luck is injury prone. I'd rather have in injured Luck who doesn't even play over a 40 million dollar Dak Prescott.

Stopped reading at the part about needing to trade Tyron Smith, but have to resign Cooper....even though my better judgement told me to stop reading at the 1st sentence

The core of this team has been together since 2016, they haven’t won a damn thing. nor will they, not even with a new coaching staff.

this thing needs blown up, a new personnel dept would do that, but it isn’t happening.

the Jones/McClay triumvirate will move forward with contracts for the current overhyped roster, and we all be back here next year and the year after talking about the same mediocrity.

to think something will drastically change after 24 years of it being done the same way is silly. Jerry’s way is the only way and that cycle won’t be broken unfortunately

I think you took an objective view which is rare on these forums. But I can't help to wonder what a better coaching staff could do for this team.

Did I just read “draft Mahomes, Wilson, Lamar, Brees, etc”? You understand how ridiculous that is right? You don’t just decide to draft one of those players. It takes an incredible amount of luck to get a QB of that level.

Laughable.

Who cares? We have to take that chance because we WONT go all the way with Dak. All of you complain about Jerry, yet many of you are willing to accept average, mediocre players like Dak like it’s nothing. Chiefs got rid of Alex Smith, and struck Mahomes. We could do the same, but all of you let the fear of drafting a Manziel scare you. Stop it.

You do not trade a top 5 LT in this league unless you are doing a tear down......
Other than that I pretty much agree with that assessment

I didn't say we couldn't or shouldn't try. I simply disagree with saying "draft Mahomes" as an offseason priority. If it were that easy, we'd have had multiple SBs by now since the mid 90s - we would have just selected our own Joe Montanas as we pleased.

On Tyron Smith, this is more about looking down the road. It’s a gamble but he is always injured, even though he plays through most injuries, but when will the decline begin? When will those injures catch up? You gotta kinda assess that. If you can get a first or second I at least have to consider it. In a couple seasons, he could legit be a cap cut. It’s a gamble. I’m not gonna deny that.

On Zeke, say KC loses to NE or Baltimore in the Championship game. They would legitimately be one player away. They have the receivers, te and the QB. What is missing? The running back. You mean to tell me they wouldn’t go all in? I think they might. I know the defense is suspect but they are about offense.

Most pressing need is a special teams coach. What a crap show there.

qb - non transitional tag for dak. Dak still needs a lot of work. Need to get him to run more when no one is open.
Pick up case kenum as backup

Rb - we are good here. Zeke has to get in better shape and care more.

wr - really not sure what to do here. It’s a mess. Gallup may be the only returner. Hope to get Amari back on reasonable contract

te- Witten retires for good. Sign jarwin long term. Need to draft a te.

Ol- need to draft tyron’s replacement now. Guys need to get strong. There is little movement in the run game.

dL- think some of tanks’ struggle is because Crawford is out. The worked well together.

Lb - early season this position looked so deep. Now it looks like ****

need to look hard for a kicker in the offseason

Man, we're not going anywhere with a LOPSIDED offense waiting for Zeke to beat 8 in the Box.
Get a quality QB first and then we can talk about the rest!

I would trade for Rivers, he should be able to drive the football.

If we had say, Rivers @ QB. Callahan as HC, let him pick assistants (Garrett and Moore 86).Draft some backup QB's -- while also getting the backup we have now up to speed and game ready. Just those changes. Superbowl bound within a few years easily. That's how good the talent here already is. Add an accurate QB and a good coach? Superbowl.

Lol @ trading Tyron.

He is a bargain at his pricetag until he decides to hang it up.

Cooper just non-chalanted his entitled *** out of here if I ran the team. Draft a WR in Rd. 1 if that WR is CeeDee Lamb. If not go D.

I'd tag Dak. See if the Jets would trade Jamal Adams for Byron head up. Draft a CB or DT in Rds 1-3. Re-sign Bennett and put him @ LDE full time opposite DLaw. Sign best available FA DT.

Install Jarwin as full time starting TE. Re-sign Cobb. Offense might suffer a bit early in 2020 but we should be healthy @ OL by next spring.
