Can we just draft a player without any injury or drug flags for once? My goodness.

When there is absolutely zero risk of the man selecting the players losing his job, these things happen time and again. No accountability, and it affects every facet of the organization.

My goodness. Only these “Dallas Cowboys”

What a terribly run organization

All those gambles on injured players and troubled players and Jerry and crew didn’t hit on not one of them. Not a single one
Jerry still believes the way to win is to have more talent on the field than the other team (and hence having schemes that are about executing better than the other side). The only way to have more talent than other teams in the salary cap era is through high risk reward players that other teams balk on. We mainly do this on defense and the results show. You can't say we never hit on them, but since we don't have much behind these guys when they do go down it doesn't take very many of them of to be off the field for the strategy to break down...for 25 years.

Don't forget the distinct advantages that go along with that unique structure.

Wish him well health wise but what a dumb pick.

So many wasted draft picks over the last few years because of the terrible decisions this FO has made. Ridiculous.

it’s not a dumb pick.

these guys have short careers.

If they make it 4 seasons they are lucky.

Millions on the line or not... Guy should just hang them up. It would be pretty hard for him to do the things he loves to do, or even enjoy his millions, if he winds up being a quadriplegic.

I could definitely see LVE trying to play with this the next 2-3 seasons and then calling it quits either because he’s spooked (rightfully so) or because he can’t play at a level he’s used to.

So we drafted a guy with a chronic neck injury? Well that wasn't very intelligent of McClay and the boys.

McClays hot streak has been over for a couple years now. If we dont knock this draft out of the park we are going to be regressing quickly.

For whatever reason the seasons we dont have 1st round draft picks we seem to draft horribly.

It clearly states teams knew about the condition before the draft.
You don’t know what the scans showed. A lot of people with stenosis are asymptomatic until something happens to cause compression of the spinal cord.

there very well may have been a slight narrowing but nothing else.

Remember the debates here on CZ a month ago where people jumped up and down indicating that the spinal stenosis thing was just a vicious rumor and that he just had a "stinger" in college?
That's exactly what it was a month ago.

Yeah, I hear its pretty bad...………...I have a cousin with the same condition, except most of his pain is in his back. They call it the shopping cart effect, where you are bent over like you are pushing a shopping cart at HEB.

For those that dont know this condition, think of it as a hose and inside are all the nerves. Now kink the hose and that is what this condition is, it is a narrowing of the spinal column that cause a "kink" where the nerves are then bunched together. This pinches the nerves and causes all sorts of problems all over your body.

The surgery, as I understand it, removes some of the bone in the spine to in effect "widen the kink" and lower the pinching pressure on the nerves. The problem is that when you widen the kink by removing the bone in that area, the spinal cord is less protected now and any impact or blunt force to that now less protected area could potentially damage the spinal cord resulting in paralysis.

Wow, thanks for the info. How can his family/spouse even consider letting him continue to play football.

How does one get the most out of a glasses making, pro-bowl obsessed, pimp-witch wannabe that lacks basic football fundamentals? Bill Belichick himself would not be capable of saving Jaylon Smith. He is dead weight like his QB. 2016 was a bust draft minus Zeke (who only shows up every other game now).

Based on your logic pretty much the entire team needs to be cut. Let's see your detailed plan of action. Inquiring minds want to know.

So this injury is pretty series after reading about it and has cut other careers short. Any severe injury he could endure paralysis. No thx I'll take my chances at a healthy life

I'd Dallas knew of this why in the world would we even consider him?
