I'm in the DNC movement right now. I think the fact that this team drafted a linebacker with a neck condition sort of was the final straw into waiting for the off-season for false hope
No one was talking about anything last year when the kid was tearing it up

he had a minor non invasive surgery and will be ready to go next season

Well I'm bummed that info came out that nfl teams knew about the condition prior to the draft.

I liked him predraft. Think it only a handful of us that wanted him drafted along with @CATCH17 iirc.
Didn't think much of the rumors back then.

The history of that injury with former players isn't too promising. Devonte Holloman would have his arms go numb at times just engaging blockers

The failure to win the worst division in football really says it all.

I will always root for my beloved Cowboys. I can honestly say this is the first time in 30 plus years that I don’t care what happens next Sunday. This team isn’t going anywhere, and a new regime is needed. Here’s to new life in 2020.

Buttttttt, the same regime will be there in 2020

this season (and as a result, my enthusiasm) never even got out of 1st gear really....

even during the 3-0, which was just the proverbial paper over the cracks

what a waste of time and a big bag of nothing it turned out to be (watch us win the Super Bowl now that I say this)

I feel the same way. It's weird to have a Cowboys/Skins game and feel ho-hum about it. It was the most intense rivalry in football in the 70s. Tom Landry and George Allen both put together extraordinary teams that fought hard in some amazing games. Back then the Cowboys and the Commanders were what made the NFC East such an intense division. The Eagles and the Giants were usually just mediocre also-rans. We did get some competition from the Don-Coryell-coached St. Louis Cardinals with Jim Hart and quarterback. Coryell put together some outstanding teams that gave both the Cowboys and the Commanders a run for their money. Jim Hart was a great quarterback. A victory over an Allen-coached Commanders team or over a Coryell-coached Cardinals team meant something. I miss those days.

Today, it's the Cowboys and the Commanders who are the also-ran teams. The Eagles and the Giants are the ones with recent championship success, and the Cardinals are no longer in the division. I never thought I'd say this, but I want the Commanders to have a good team, and of course I want the Cowboys to be great. The league just isn't the same without that rivalry. Both teams' owners have made poor decisions for decades that have mired the teams in poor to mediocre seasons. Anyone who remembers what it was like in the 70s knows what I mean. That rivalry shaped the league. Landry was the innovator, and Allen was the coach with a knack for assembling a team of older players that people thought were done and whipping them into a great team. The term "quarterback sack" stems from that rivalry. It was a reference to Cowboys quarterback, Craig Morton. Coach Allen said something like, "We're going to take that Morton salt and put it in a sack." After that, the term "sack" caught on. It used to be known as "quarterback tackled for a loss." How boring. Allen's term is way better.

Anyway, I would love to see a resurgence of great Cowboys and Commanders teams and a rivalry to match. The rivalry did come back some in the 90s with Jimmy Johnson and Joe Gibbs as the respective coaches. Today's two teams just don't have the magic that we saw back in the 70s or the 90s.

As much as it hurts, I agree.
I’m always optimistic and I will watch the last game, because I bleed blue. Can’t remember a season I was this disgusted.

How many decades and coaches have to pass before before we all come to terms with the fact that Jerry did more to destroy that team than build it?

The "right" coach annoyed Jerry. He'd rather lose with the wrong one on the off chance that maybe, just maybe, he'll get lucky and this time he can get credit for it. Amazing how a man as accomplished in business as Jerry can have such a fragile ego.

Yes, Jerry may be a smart business man, but he should not try his wildcatter type ways with a football team. It is a complete different animal. And he has failed doing it his way since the late 90's.
After the triplets were all gone, or were aging, I expected some down years, maybe 4 or 5 years even. But certainly not this long.

Ok great. Thanks.
Well hey, its not like I dont agree with your point.

Garrett is a disastrous mess and should have been gonzo long ago. We couldnt have expected him to have quit because he wasnt getting it done though.

His boss let that happen for reasons we all know well.

Semantics maybe, but in my mind, blaming Garrett is like someone who doesnt survive cancer being mad at the medicine for not working and while absolving the cancer itself.

Same here. Some thrive on trashing the regime to extent it appears to have ruined all hope. I still have some hope we can turn it around. Without hope, why bother. Go route for your “back up” team.
He's been selling hope for years..........he's a snake.

Unfortunately the same regime is still in place. And why this franchise has been doomed for a generation.

The same ones who fired our only two SB winning coaches , hired a Bozo which cost us another championship then continued hiring Puppet HC so the owner could become a Football Guy.

You know I can see your point but JG has makes this last 10 yrs interesting to say the least. Always wondering if we will make the playoffs and keeping us on edge. Heck I can’t remember one year to the next who wins the SB once the new year rolls around. I’m excited for Sunday and hope to see my team play for a few more weeks
