Perhaps starting Rush is the smartest thing to do but when have we ever done what's smart? It'll be Dak, as usual.

Bet the house and barn on it if you so dare. Jerry would relish finishing the season with a playoff game in the offing.

The NFL would frown pretty hard on a team playing the clear lower level QB when that team has a chance to win the division. Maybe even take disciplinary action.

I really enjoyed your perspective. My son and I were calling for Cooper last week.

The Dak delusionists are really thinning. But those little "Skip Bayless" Die hards just will not quit. You pretty much mopped the floor with them. Remember how proud they use to be. My how 3 years have changed things.

Every time I read one of their sad pathetic Posts.

I picture Shannon Sharp saying "Come on Skip, you don't believe that"

I think he will be franchised (who cares its Jerry's Money) but %100 the New Coach brings in legitamte Competition. Just for Options and theres no way Dakie-pooh remains the QB.

Thank goodness the nightmare is nearing the End. Garrett and his Pet Project.

Its not that I Hate Dak or a Dak Hater. I hate how the delusional idiotic fans defended him and attacked me for merely pointing out he was flawed. I hated how they gloated how Dak would get 40 million. And I would have to "Deal" with it and accept it ( knowing full well that price would destroy this team. A Supporting cast has to prop Dak up.

But to the Rest if you who are finally seeing the light. Welcome aboard the REALITY TRAIN.

It's OK we know you all drank the Kool Aid in 2016.

But now that you all are leaving the Dak Bandwagon. Come on complete the process. . . just admit, what all io us already know. . . If Romo gets his Job back we win the Super Bowl in 2016:oldcouple:

To think this fan base has been split in half over such an idiotic decision by 2 of the greatest Football minds Jones & Garrett. Lol fools

And to the rest of you die hards, paying Dak 40 million isn't gonna prove you all are right.

You all bought the fool's gold in 2016 . you all put 2 and 2 together & figured Dak was the Present and Future and threw Romo under the Bus. 4 years later and all you got is a fraud

well said my man.

Here's another projection about Dak he will not get the Tag, in fact, expect a Foles or someone similar to be signed in the off-season.
Dak and his agent will find very little demand in the FA market.
Also do not exclude the possibility of us moving up and drafting a QB.
Jerry and Son, after all, they have seen the last 3 seasons of Daks play have come to the conclusion he is not the ONE....
That's all for now and go, BOYS!

P.S. No hate here just common Grid-iron football sense!

I wouldn’t mind bringing in Andy dalton and AJ green for a combined price of $25m next year. I’d give aj green 4yrs and $60million before I’d give the mental midget, aka amari cooper, anything. I’m not saying Andy dalton is the greatest qb but he is better than what we got, I’d take on a short deal. I do think they will draft one tho.

Not a Dak fan, but, he’s having the best statistical year so far and as far as the Eagle game is concerned, horrible play calling, receivers dropping balls on third downs and his shoulder injury led to that loss. I said last week that I wanted to see Cooper get some playing time but this game is not where you do that. Unless the Eagle game gets out of hand and there is no chance to make the playoffs. There are many reasons the Cowboys are where they’re at, but Dak ain’t one of them.

Obviously sarcasm and that's fine.

You don't think it would be enlightening if the drop off wasn't dramatic?
Not sarcasm.

I don't believe Rush is adequate as a backup. We need to find out.

Rush will make some plays because he knows what to do, but his arm appears to be just too weak. I don't think he even has the arm of a Colt McCoy, Case Keenum, or Matt Cassell, and those guys arms simply were not good enough.

Garrett cares. Hes fighting for his job. Hes not going to say "what the hell-lets start Rush". again-Imagine the press if Philly loses and we lose cause cause Rush has a bad game

While we're playing WHAT IF ...

What IF the Eagles lose, and we lose because Dak's shoulder is still in such a poor condition that he can't hit wide open WR's and we lose the game ... AGAIN !?!?

No because he doesn't have traditional QB skills. People say he played hurt last week. But How could you tell? He looked like the same QB his whole career.

He either throws the ball through a WR behind a WR or over a WR.

I've watched every single pass he has attempted as a Cowboy and its always the same.

For 3 years Dak has gotten by with 2016 being on his resume. You slobberers were so enamored you figured the terrible throws you witnessed would improve over time.

Now the Team is all out if excuses and escape goats.

If the next Coach is in any way connected with Football. There is no way Dak gets long term contract. And if the Cowboys are lucky enough to get a half decent QB veteran or Rookie Dak will not even have a starting Job next year.
When you resort to name calling, you seriously weaken your own argument. Makes it appear as if you really don't have any cogent thoughts.

Foles makes Dak look like Joe Montana.

he's been cleared medically. Garrett making that assumption against medical opinion would really have the press going wild.

Yeah me too. Romo is heralded for 2 wild card wins, Dak keeps getting better, threw for over 4500 yds this season, has won a wild card game (matching 50% of Romo's post season "glory"), and has done it with the two biggest dumb ***** in Pokes history as HC and Off coordinator.
Not sure that Romo had as good of a team as this is. Much of this team was assembled for Romo's 2016 year...which was given to Dak. Romo never really got a chance with THIS caliber of a team.

Romo deserves the same shot at criticism as Dak, sure. But some people's memory has faded. Most of the time we're IN agame at the end, that Romo sometimes lost? Well...because HE put the team on his shoulders with some very brave plays.

Dak has some fancy stats....but does he really put this team on his shoulders, and make the plays he needs to? Many people are saying "it was just one game because of injury". I don;t see it that way at all. Still hoping for video or stats, but I believe he's had location issues for at least several games now....seems like crossing routes are the most suspect.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rush myself. It would help answer several important questions...win or lose.

You would have to be BOTH a Dak hater and an absolute moron to go through with the OP's plan. Even if you think that Dak can't play in the NFL; you HAVE to understand that he is still a valuable asset in trade and that some team will compensate you for him. Ideally, even if both conditions are true (hater and moron); you want to SHOWCASE Dak in order to enhance the possibility of getting up to TWO first round picks for him.

Personally, I like Dak and I think that he has progressed a lot since he came into the League. I wouldn't be upset at all if we resigned him. But having said that, if I could get TWO 1st round picks for him, I would take it. That is true for any player on the team.

Two first rounders? And you think the Op is a moron?

Clearly he is at minimum an average NFL QB, so calling him bad is nonsense. But aside from that, he still is clearly better than Rush so it makes no sense to ask why people would rather Dak play than Rush.

"Makes no sense"....?

If Dak is injured?
See if Cooper can make an acceptable backup in real time?

For starters.

Of all the objections...you went with this one? There's at least 2 or 3 bona fide reasons to play Cooper, and NFL can;t do jack.

And you know for a fact Dak is too injured to be more effective than Rush? Sorry, but you don’t have foundation for that.

As for seeing if Rush can be an effective backup, you don’t go that route with a playoff berth on the line.
