I thought this sobering statistic summed up this season pretty well

Per Bobby Belt of NFL Network (who also use to do great Cowboys podcast) , since 1990 163 teams have had a +100 point differential, the 2019 Cowboys are the only team to not finish with a winning record. 1 out of 163, wow.

It was a weird season of looking great and looking inept.

Great statistical gem! Unfortunately, there isn't a way to measure heart, effort, and desire, of which many of the overpaid, overhyped players on this team exhibited little over the course of the season. Entitlement, arrogance, rudeness (to fans, ie., D. Lawrence), and visual lack of effort permeated this miserable collection of players and was a total embarrassment to their legions of fans, yet again. Wish we could get a factual statistic on that measure of a classless professional football team.

Jason Garrett's cowboys set lots of weird records of futility. Jerry should be ashamed but he doesn't really seem to care. Jason doesn't seem to care either.

Yep. Garrett has a bunch of records that make you scratch your head. I will have to check but we were on pace to set the record for worst kick return avg for a season. I think there is another where we won every offensive statistic in a game and still lost. The twitter folks constantly diggin them up.

It’s definitely an interesting stat, but there have already been a few articles posted explaining it... the close game luck ran out. With average close game luck, the team projected to win 10-11 games with this point differential.
And before we get the brain dead, low IQ Garrett takes, remember they were 8-2 in close games last year under you guessed it, Garrett.

we had one in 2015 where we lost to a team with more penalty yards than offensive yards.

Yep, to be precise, a +113 point differential with an 8-8 record. It's crazy. On average, a team with that point differential should expect to win 10.7 games.

It is a bit of balancing out of luck, as the Cowboys went 10-6 last year with a barely positive point differential.

Its not so unusual when you figure we played in the worst division in football and hung most of those points on the lowly Giants and Commanders (4 games).

That's like hitting the powerball..................... and then using the ticket as toilet paper before collecting the prize.................

I'd say using it for toilet paper, instead of collecting the ticket haha
