It was nice to hear him rightly put Bruce Allen on full blast. What an incompetent, backstabbing, toadie, politician that guy is. As a Cowboys fan, I'm a bit sad to see Washington finally wake up and get rid of him. He was a cancer there for a long time. Now we just have to cut ours out and move on.

Now I just hope that our next head coach is actually better than Rivera.

* I know the 4-3/3-4 is kind of losing value on how many times teams go into a nickel package, but isn't Ron more of a 4 down linemen all the time type of guy?

Does anyone know how RR likes to play gaps or type of DL he likes? I know they got some talented players that can probably excel in any package but just curious on how that'll work out.

It doesn't but it's sounding like Washington is making him 'an offer he can't refuse' in terms of money and control.

He's an old school 4-3 guy but if I remember correctly, I think he's dabbled in using the 3-4 before somewhere along the way. But I think the Commanders have invested in several quality defensive linemen, and tackles specifically, so I think that should appeal to him.

As long as Danny Boy runs the show in DC I'm not concerned who coaches them. He's a younger version of Jerry, without any prior success.

That's true. Snyder makes Jerry actually look competent by comparison. That's how bad that guy is.

I was reading this morning that he's managed to undermine and screw up some notable coaches along the way.

Rivera doesn't have to take the first offer and personally doubt that he does. I would be shocked if Rivera didnt meet with us if we were interested. If for nothing else to see what JJ had to offer.

We'll see. I think he'll be announced as their new coach as soon as today. Because Snyder, in his desperation, will throw more money and authority at Rivera than anyone else would, certainly more authority than Jerry Jones would ever give him.

I think this is a good coaching hire by Washington, and is the perfect fit to lead that young talented defensive core. I still think they need a qb to get to the next level though, just not sold on haskins.

Where I see this really backfiring is washington still doesnt have a GM. How often has the head coach been hired first? This feels similar to jerry hiring the coordinators before the head coach.

Rivera's situation reminds me of Andy Reid's. still a really good coach when he got let go, and everyone knew it, but it was time to move on. i think he's exactly the kind of coach the Cowboys need.
