Jerry just can't let go of his friends.

I get it, but you're running an NFL team here sir.

Yep.
And I've said it for years that if Herschel Walker had been drafted by Jerry that franchise changing trade never would've happened. In the beginning Jerry had zero ties to the coaches and players he inherited which is why it was so easy for him to fire Landry and trade Herschel. But fast forward a few years and Jerry is handing out ill-advised extensions to just about every player drafted after he bought the team and hanging on to coaches who should've long been fired.

The same Witten who refused to teach any of the newly drafted TEs how to play in the NFL? Wonder what Martellus would have to say about that. Anyways has to be a load of bull.

Confident this will be the end for me.

maybe I’ll finally start liking the Steelers (doubtful) after living here 49 years

He may very well interview witten
Interviews are an important step in one day getting hired
But even jerry isn’t hiring witten as HC

At this point, I would love to see this......why not? Sean Lee for DC and promote Columbo to OC. Moore and Garrett work the gift shop. Think about it, this would be endless entertainment.

Witten was one of the players Marcus Spears mentioned as being one of Jerry's boys. Who caused resentment amongst the majority of the players on the roster during his time in Dallas. So this makes perfect sense to a senile billionaire.

I'd rather have Romo
I think romo could be an excellent OC
But I wouldn’t want him as HC either
I think new coach should hire his staff but witten as a TE coach would be a good start
You don’t just become a HC without ever being any kind of coach and succeed

Most kinda have to work up to being HC
Many work years as a coordinator before ever even get an interview
Great players rarely translates to great coaches
The closest I can think of is Bart Starr who was a QB coach for one year and became a HC 3 years later. HOF player and awful HC.
