Goose suggested going after a defensive minded HC. He still believes that a team needs a good defense to win championships or at least one that can create turnovers. He really liked Ron Rivera. Also mentioned that the Cowboys should look at Jack Del Rio.

Also suggested that if Jerry is really serious about winning another SB title he should reach out to Nick Saban or Sean Payton to find out if there's any interest.

One thing is for certain... the bar has been raised in the NFC East with Rivera in Washington, Pederson in Philadelphia, and the front runners for the Giants HC job to be Matt Rhule, Daniels of NE, or McCarthy.
I defensive coach would probably make the team tougher. Outside of the Cowboys Zone our offense was not the problem. We need to fix the defense immediately.

And we sit and wait so we don't hurt Garrett's feelings. Brilliant!

Garrett knew he was gone at least a month ago. And our next HC is very likely coaching a playoff team and not allowed to have formal discussions with Cowboys but has a handshake deal.

These things are done in back channels way in advance, they don't roll out of bed one day and pick names out of a hat.

Offense was a problem but some don’t understand that. Against playoff teams what did that offense really do??? Stop adding those has been wins when we don’t see those type of teams in the playoffs.

Those guys won't come here. They won't have their fates determined by Jerry Jones picking their players for them.

We'll wind up with a 2nd or 3rd tier guy. A different version of Jason Garrett or a college coach like Dan Mullen.

Whoever is hired, can pick his own staff - or should. I would like to keep Kitna with Dak if possible, think he has been good for Daks mechanics. Another year with Kitna in his ear would be a bonus for him, he took a step forward this year so another year with him should tighten up his footwork etc even more.

If the defense played better we beat half the good teams we played. Special teams cost us a few games as well. The offense is top 10. Top 12 quarterback, top 5 offensive line, top 5 running back, top 5 receiving core. We could use another tight end but no one should complain about this offense.

We are going to be fighting with the Giants for 3rd place. In this league, coaching matters more than talent and both Eagles and Commanders have an upper hand in the division.
Yeah, that 12-16 record Rivera put up the last 2 years in Carolina sure is a high bar.

But, let's ignore that he had a losing record in 6 of his 9 seasons in Carolina.

By the way, weren't we also supposed to be worried when the Commanders hired Jay Gruden, and before that Mike Shanahan, and then going back further, when they hired Norv Turner?

I'm thinking if the Skins had hired the assistant QB coach from the Class 2A state champions in Iowa there would be fans talking about how much better the Skins were than the Cowboys.

Don’t get the Rivera love... though he’s probably a good enough defensive coach to shut Dak down! Doesn’t take much to psych Dak out!

And Peterson is not a good coach. No bar was raised with that bum. The Eagles D?Cord. just stole Dak’s testiculars, like most decent coordinators do especially in their building!

Garrett is actually a better coach than Peterson

I don’t care who the coach is... the Cowboys need real talent along the defensive line. Spare parts won’t get it done! No more reclamation projects. No more fixer- uppers. Real talent along the defensive line.

If the offense that has most of the high paid players on it played better and didn’t get shutout from scored tds we win half those games. See how easy that is and is even easier when in most of those games the defense didn’t give up that many points like the NE and Saints game. I know y’all love Dak and look for any way to excuse his side of the ball but they’re just as much to blame as the D and probably moreso with the amount of high round picks and paid players on that side of the ball.

At this point I really couldn't care less who they hire.

Following this team has gotten to be so pointless.

The Boys need to get back their Offensive Line dominance which they had during the 1994 season when they went 12-4.

Bill Callahan was the Offensive Line coach then and he would be an excellent head coach. He is now the interim Head Coach for the Skins and if he is not rehired by them Jerry should bring him in as head coach.

Its not about loving Dak. The reality is the offense was the least of the teams problems. When the defense causes turnovers we when going away. The defense played two good games this year against the Saints and Patriots. They failed to make critical stops against the Vikings, Eagles, Packers, Jets, and Bears. Stop hating on Dak and see what the real issues are.

nothing will surprise me with Jerry on the new hire..

rumors have started spreading he wanted a defense minded HC because he wants to try and keep Kellen and Kitna.. that would be BAD..i want a purge... we kneed a new voice, direction, mantras, and faces..the team itself just needs a full change..
nothing like a full burn to get players attention..

We had the number 1 offense.

I assume you mean Gosslin

Gossage is the ex-Yankee closer - and current nutcase.
We had goose once that sure liked nuts. If you didn't cover up when he was around, he'd sure get you good. He finally wound up making a pretty good meal.
