This isn't a Broadway play. This is 32 teams fighting to beat the crap out of each other. Or else why have a draft and free agency and coaches at all? Just go through the motions win or lose. Jerry's making money and that's all that counts?! 2 division teams won Super Bowls during Garrett's tenure, one of those teams just beat them to get into the postseason. The other 2 aren't giving their coaches extended time to take a tour in the name of closure. lol A coach who had no business being hired in the first place then kept around for 13 years and paid 5 million per on top of it.. poor guy! This is more than a game. Jerry swears up and down how much he wants to win yet his actions say otherwise. But I'm sure he's a super nice guy outside of his GM duties. The team used to strive for much more.

Players and coaches are fired all the time, life goes on and Garrett will be fine. He can easily find a job as an assistant or analyst or whatever, yet we have to treat it like him and his family will be out on the street. LOL You see any other teams besides maybe the Bengals doing this? Teams want to win and the division is getting better while Jerry is still Jerry. I guess it's easy to enjoy the show if you don't mind sitting home every January! Competing in the postseason is the business he's in and that should be the goal every year! But that's not the case.
One other thing. The whole NFL is nothing but a show. Just entertainment If it did not make money, it would not be on the tv. It just happens to be America's past time.

If a change was to be made, it wouldn't have been difficult to announce it yesterday, I'm insulted as a fan of this circus, plain and simple. WE are the most valuable franchise in the world, and here we are with the Garrett sympathetic tour. Unbeliveable!!

I have often said, If you owned Exxon, wouldn't you hire the best CEO to run it? instead we get a coach to learn on the job for the last 10 years, and is still a moron.

This organization isn't solely focused on football or winning SB's, it's primary focus is revenue, and most of all having a senile owner who can't turn his back from a camera or radio microphone.

We and the media got clowned yesterday!!
The media does all the clowning, foisting their own expectations and narratives on the unwashed masses.

If you don't like it then go find another team. I love Jerry. I love Jason. I love everything about the Cowboys even after this 8-8 season.
what I think is fans and media jump on the first thing they feel Jerry says that is a negative dig at Jason. for the media it creates headlines, for fans it quenched the thirst from Garrett hate. I said when Jerry didn't give Jason a contract that it was a bluff, he never ever said there was a record or level Garrett had to get to to keep his job, in fact he said there was none, but the fans and media ran with it. even Stephen never really said it, he said they all needed to get to the next level, but never said it alone was on Jason. this is why now it's hard for Jerry and possibly Stephen too to make a decision.

Damn I'm going to miss the game day menu threads for the next 8 months :( That was the only thing I looked forward to.

Whew!!! Just imagine how hard the break up would have been if we had beat the Eagles in week 16 and lost to the Seahawks at home in the wildcard game......

Hey, it's all been said before by a lot of people way before you said it. I am just sayin that calling the owner a POS is idiotic.

lol after 25 years he’s a POS. A mighty long time. And sports is more than just entertainment, it’s taken very seriously! Football, baseball, soccer, hockey around the globe cricket tennis you name it even down to high school sports and obviously the olympics. You think players and coaches view it as entertainment? people who work and workout around the clock? You’re fooling yourself!

So one of the biggest sports institutions in the world is just entertainment? It’s actually sad that a Cowboy fan would think that but also par for the course under Jerry Jones!

I agree! This season was awesome! I hope we have another one just like it in 2020.

Just one thing...the season isn't over. The Cowboys' season is over. Difference.

It infuriates me that Jerry thought it would be okay to put a kindergarten level coach in charge of the most prolific team in sports.
It further infuriates me that, not only had he refused to get rid of him year after year of failures and incompetence, that he is dragging his feet about firing him or giving him notice that he will not be re-signed.
Jerry lives like a king off of money paid by the fans.
Yet he spits in the faces of the fans every time he gets a chance.

This is an example of what stubborn pride can do....to a once proud team.

Jerry Jones is basically clowning us like you said. There’s no reason we should be waiting around on Garrett.. it’s a slap in the face to all the fans keeping this man around and delaying his decision. And if he stays with the team I’m going to lose my mind. That would be my last straw with this loser mentality franchise.

Jerry has given 10 years to a complete inept HC .

He must be in pain right about now . Sipping pina coladas in his 100 million dollar yacht .

I don't understand why Garrett is still the HC. Guy couldnt even make the playoffs with this roster. He should have been gone before the year 2020 even started.

Now Garrett can always say he was Cowboys HC during the 20s too. I fear Jerry is looking for reasons to keep him.
