Derrick Brown is the DT we need

This is the problem with consistent mediocrity. You're not good enough for a Super Bowl, and you're not bad enough for high picks.

Derrick Brown is a freakin' monster and will not only be a great run stopper, but wreck havoc in the middle with the pass rush. He's the only top prospect I'd be willing to trade up for and give away future picks. Players like this are much more valuable than a Cooper/elite skill player. Sadly, he'll be another DT that wastes away with the Lions.

I have been saying this for months now. He would be great for us but he is way out of reach unless we trade up to get him.

He’s DEFINITELY in the mold of Fletcher Cox....will NEVER need to come off the field (unless he’s gassed).

The one problem I have is every time I play the first pick draft game he is always there for me to pick. Getting my hopes up but the real draft will let me down.

Slim chance he drops out of the top 5, no way he falls out of the top 10.

Watched Brown for 4 years. Constantly double teamed & sometimes even beat those. According to stats at Auburn, he did not miss a tackle this season.

Would love to see Dallas get him. Would be a difference maker from Day 1.

I don't see him getting past Carolina but I agree he would be a perfect fit. He's a ROUND better than Kinlaw, IMO.

I'd not him, I'd love Delpit. Depending on what we so with Coop and Cobb, I'd like Ruggs there too. He's most likely of the 3 to be there at 17.

Have to trade up and give away draft picks which the team will need more of when players leave via free agency

Yeah it won’t happen. I could see the Panthers, Lions, or Falcons taking him.

Hes more of a Gerald McCoy ...

I disagree. Cox is a better run-stopper than McCoy, and Brown is a VERY GOOD run-stopper. He’s one of those guys that has both 3T & 1T traits rolled into a single body. McCoy is a 3T (and 5T this year) - albeit a very good one. But, placing McCoy at the 1T would hurt a defense. He’s not known for taking on double teams every down.
