Obviously we know that Jerry isn't going to relinquish any authority to a HC so that in itself is going to eliminate the legit high profile candidates.

The more logical Jerry type choice would be Kellen Moore.........:(

In our particular situation, I think it’s much more important that the next head coach have head coaching experience running the show than it is to have NFL coaching but having never run the show.

I also think the next coach has to be a successful defensive guy or bring one with him.

I agree on both accounts. I'd rather see a head coach--from somewhere--than a second-in-command; and I'd also rather see a defensive leader. Offense is fun and all, but look at the most dominant team in the past 20 years. They're built to win through their defense.

That said, as long as it's not a friend of Jerry they hired out of convenience (Norv), I'll open to all posibilities

NFL teams do go to Riley and talk about concepts in the offseason so he is already respected in this league.

Lincoln has such a cush job though. He can play chumps all year and go to the playoffs and OU will never get rid of him.

Going to the Cowboys would be a total ego move for Lincoln.
It will get old quick if he does not start winning championships. Getting your butt kicked in the CFP semifinals can get you on the hot seat in a few years.

Please not Stoops or Riley. Please, please, please...

Stoops will be a really tough sell. Riley proved he is not ready.

I agree in a way. I just threw out who I think Jerry is thinking. I’d rather have a Roman or an experienced guy

The media is saying that if the Vikings lose on Sunday there is a chance that Zimmer will be coming back to Dallas.

I honestly don't think Meyer is an option--or ever was. I think he was very smart to get his name in the media, but I haven't seen anything to indicate that was anything but on off-the-cuff remark.

I think it's definitely possible that Jerry wants Riley.

What he said wasnt just some quick sound bite in passing. The man went into great depth to explain himself.

Now I don't think Jerry will go Meyer... But I am hoping I am wrong.

the list is mostly filled with coaches still coaching and we will have to wait until after the first few rounds of the playoffs and possibly the College football NC..

Meyer, riley, and other are all available and will be for while..Mcarthy is just now getting few rumors but not many hot news on possible new hires ANYWHERE..

so plenty of time , no reason to rush IMO..

Jerry has list and a plan regardless of what fans think..

I'm not sure what I want but a McCarthy type or an assistant from the NFL would be better suited for our roster given it has enough talent to win now IE no true rebuilding going on.. we have the draft and 22 players to let go or resign(no qb locked into a Long term deal) with big cap jump and space..

so an NFL experienced coach whether HC or assistant would be the best route for immediate results..

my list based on knowing the Jones and our current roster,

McCarthy
Roman
Zimmer the dark horse but makes the most sense

Yeah..

I think Lincoln is a very talented play designer and him as our coach would be very entertaining.

If we hired him I’d be fine with it. It could very well fail but it could very well turn us into a NFL powerhouse for a long time.

My worry is the organization giving any coach too much time to process like they did JG.

I believe that a current coach in the NFL will be the pick....if it were years ago..I would lean Meyer, but Jerry is getting too old, need to win now...but we will see..

I've also started to see Kubiaks name pop up more often. I truly don't know how to feel about it, other than I just don't want him.

The dude has a better track record than JG, kind of, but has literally been all over the place. He's got himself a few 8-8s on his wall too :D

Get Up this morning is going on about how good an idea Tony Dungy would be. Id be shocked if he was even interested. Someone else said Marvin Lewis and he got mocked by the others, rightfully so
