Tell Mark Stepnoski blocking can't be "taught". Dude was a 260 lb center and used leverage his whole career. Blocking is one of the few things that can definitely be taught with the right coaching.

Ask Steven Young and Aaron Rogers how much coaching they got from Joe Montana and Brett Farve.

I don't care. This team was talking about being team-oriented...and that's a team-oriented thing to do. I can't help it if some players are so scared of their backups that they won't help them.

I read all over this forum about Witten and how he's holding Jarwin back. But to be honest Jarwin is a nice compliment, but shouldnt be nowhere near a starter. He is unusable in the running game. And we know this because Dallas was a strictly inside run team in 2018. Why because the TEs couldnt block the outside.

And it doesnt limit the handicap only to the run game. Theres a reason Dak was sacked at a record pace in 2018 because TEs couldnt help in pass blocking either. It was horrible.

Jarwin is a nice guy to go out and run a seam or a out to the sideline and get forgotten about by the defense because he's not a threat. That would work for the team if he comes in, in situations but if he's a starter then he's not getting them suprise the defense situations.

This team needs a complete TE, theres a reason Dallas wanted Geodert with Witten moving to the booth.

As much as Witten declined with age, Jarwin isnt half the TE Witten is. Jarwin is a guy you bring in, in situations. Not a guy you depend on regularly.

IMO Cole Kmet is just what this team needs. And picking him at 17 would be a great for this team. I see needs on defense but this defense needs veteran leadership. They have plenty of young talent who arent ready to be leaders. The offense is full of vet leaders. With the cap this team has, go and pluck a couple of vets in FA for this defense that are able to lead on the field.

Ignoring the loss of Witten would be a huge mistake as Dak found out in 2018 when im sure plenty of Monday mornings he woke up sore from the beating he took on sunday.

What, Jarwin was much better on the field in much more limited snaps.

ROTFLMAO! You know they didn’t have him in18 when they won 10 games and a playoff game right? Basically he brought 2 more lloses. Tough to replace that!

Witten is utter trash. The fact you can't see the obvious proves how far this fanbase has fallen along with its owner.

We went 8-8 Wit him. I wouldn't call it a moving topic at the moment. Time to move on.

Eric Ebron supposed to be available. Don't want Witten back.
Yep saw that the other day that the Colts plan to move on from him. Had a huge year two yrs ago and this year he was injured, I believe he issues with both ankles. Definitely worth a look...

Witten blocks well and runs a great Y option. Jarwin is a very good and could be real good if he had snaps. He gets yac all day. No reason this year for the staff not to split reps.

Witten was incredibly bleh in the back half of the season.
29/43 208 4.8

4.8 yards per attempt. That's abysmal. It's time to move on.

The love for Witt's current performances....says there is a Witt Fan Club indeed, and perhaps a Jarwin No Love Club. Witt is done.

Witt got sent to the backfield numerous time against Washington. His blocking is overrated.

Missed playoffs in 17 with him, made playoffs in 18 without him, missed playoffs in 19 with him. Yeah, it'll really hinder us

It's not just that, it's knowing when to do it and what to look for. That can be taught. Technique can be taught. Or...I dunno, go with an offense where TE isn't so critical...especially if you're dumping Garrett's predictable playbook.
Witten is known for mentoring the young TEs with the exception of Bennett who who not accept his help at the time.

Not all of the 58 sacks is Jarwin's fault. Besides, I've see some terrible whiffs by Witten himself. He's not as good as he used to be.
No, but he is better than the other TEs on the roster even now that he has slowed down.

Love Witten, but the guy is done....slow, dropped more passes this season than all of his other season's combined, it seems...can't remember the last time he broke a tackle...
