At least he has experience as compared to someone out of College and has won a Super Bowl. Better then a sharp stick in the eye.
If these reports are true then it seem Jerry and the rest of the NFL are looking heavily at experienced NFL coaches rather than college guys.
it does seem many teams are looking at older, experienced coaches this year

Do you think Jerry will let him bring in his own coaching staff; if so, I’m all for it. It will be interesting to see.

That’s the big question. Part of the fun of a new coach is who is surrounds himself with. I’d hope he’d get to. He’s an OC so a Moore might not be needed unless he trains him. I’d like a stud DC

I'm intrigued by McCarthy, especially now that he's supposedly embraced analytics.

Has Rodgers really looked that great this year?

Well, if you are willing to overlook the fact that he had the lowest INT % in the entire league this year and a ratio of almost 7 TD thrown for every pick he threw, then the answer is no, he didn't perform very well this year

I really like the idea of McCarthy being in the mix. Out of the retreads, he is the one that has the most interest for me. On the other hand, Marvin Lewis just doesn't do it at all. Lewis seems closer to Garrett than anyone else.

Lewis is literally the minority version of Garrett. Almost mirror image career wise and in success. Please not Lewis.

I’ll say it again.

No coach has ever won a super bowl in two cities. I doubt he’s the one to break that trend.

We are far from winning a super bowl. We need new ideas and systems. We need to rid the team of knuckleheads and social media divas. The next coach has some pieces to work with here in Dallas, but anyone who thinks this team is close to competing is fooling themselves. What we have is a vastly overrated roster.

Mccarthy- 10-8 postseason record and 125-77-2 record overall

Sean Peyton- 8-6 postseason record and 137-83-0 overall. 1 superbowl apiece- HOF qbs each, think mccarthy had rodgers deal with more missed games too (not for sure though)

I'm not really bowled giddy over by any of the prospective candidates, although, it remains to be seen how well any one might fare in the event that he secures his bid to become Dallas' next HC. Mike McCarthy has had many years of pro experience in that capacity, so it would seem a fairly realistic choice on the surface. I'm sure there'll be others to consider, so there's more to come.

Stop trying to be logical it won’t change their minds. They’re blinded by McCarthy owing us in the playoffs.

This is accurate, although I will go to my grave believing that Mike Holmgren would have done it if not for one of the worst officiating hatchet jobs in the history of professional sports in Super Bowl XL in Detroit

Pittsburgh was flat-out given that Super Bowl against Seattle. It still disgusts me to this day

Oh, well, better than Garrett. Wouldn't be in my top 5 choices though.
I want an innovative college coach. Someone new. Give me Clemson OC Tony Elliott.

McCarthy is instant upgrade. I’d be ecstatic with that. What makes some think Riley or Meyer or anything would do any better than his proven record?

I think peyton is better but man, these stats shock me
I think they’re pretty even. They don’t shock me he was always considered a top 5-6 HC when active. They’re just mad at his history vs us. A lot of people here were pissed when we hired Parcells.

I dont believe that, the roaster has plenty of talent, that was not ised properly, not pushed, and put in bad situations due to coaching. This roster is ready to compete, with competent leadership!

Take his team to the 2 seed in the playoffs in his first season without him it looks like.

Packers are a better team without him.
