The 4th we spent is the O and if he is not rolling so goes us. The receiver is MIA and not touching the QB. We paid a ransom for the OL at least give the back 25 to 30 carries and not depend on Dan Fouts.

Only problem with that is that our run blocking was pretty much for squat all season long.

Reminds me of a poster on the old site, would not give up on Henry instead of Elliott. He wanted Ramsey with that 4th and then Henry.

At that time, Elliott was considered one of the most NFL ready RB's that had come along because of his pass catching ability and blocking and considering the QB the Cowboys had at that time, that was as important as his running. And it did take time for Henry to adapt to the NFL like it does most RB's.

I just wish the Cowboys didn't use a top 10 pick on a RB.
Why?
Are we not getting value from that pick?
We have a guy who since day 1 has played at a hall of fame level. Even in a “down” year he had 1300 yards, 11 TDs, and 50 receptions.

In my opinion it was a great use of a top 10 pick.

The best QB doesn’t win the SB every year

True - because only one team can win it all. But the answer is Mahomes and Zeke all day long. There isn't a GM in the league that would pick it the other way.

I don't dispute he is a phenomenal player, but RBs wear down too quickly. Now the Cowboys are married to him under franchise terms. I prefer a team with balance that is not dependent upon the performance of one player. Fours years in the league already and not much to show for it.

6 of the top 10 rushers (yards) are not in the playoffs. It takes more to win.

Personal Stats don't win championships

If not for Goodell, Zeke would have been the rushing champion his first 3 years in the league. That's nothing to sneeze at.

Zeke is averaging over 47 pass receptions a year. Henry only has 33 total his last 2 seasons as a starter.

At this point it's to early to choose. Stats say Zeke right now. Ask me again in 7-8 years and it will be an easier decision then.
Henry had 1 great year ..Zeke has had 4...Henry is always njured ..I'd take Zeke...dont see Henry s body lasting

It does take more to win.
But it’s not an either/or choice.

How long have we had Tyron Smith at LT? What do we have to show for it?
How long have we had Demarcus Lawrence? Jason Witten? Zach Martin?

what do we have to show from anyone at any position?

why is this argument used against a guy who has played at the top of his position for a few years now?

now if someone wanted to say Zeke is all we need to win a SB then I could see that counter.

The only position that gets paid enough to have pause is QBs.

the most important person to winning and losing isn’t even on the field. It’s the Coach.

Anybody ready to come to my side on wishing we would’ve drafted Henry instead of Zeke?

I said before the draft that I would draft whatever defensive player you liked in that draft 1st and take Henry in the 2nd round. Most of y’all wanted Ramsey. I was not big on Ramsey admittedly but I also wasn’t sure which defensive player I would’ve favored.

Anyway Henry was always a stud. All time HS football rushing champion. Broke the record that had stood for like 50 years.

In 48 HS games he had 154 TDs and 12,124 yds. That’s an average of 252 yds and 3 TDs per GAME. Insane!

And of course his college career was without question. Set the all time single season rushing record. Won the Heisman. All American. Etc
I wanted Ramsey in the 1st and Henry in the 2nd. Zeke is much more dynamic than Henry but Henry would have led the league in rushing as a Cowboy as well. Zeke had a down year and is getting paid to the point that it hampers our ability to retain other positions but ask the Titans if they'd trade Henry for Zeke straight up and there would be no pause before a loud YES.

no and another ignorant thread of anti-zeke hindsight that the players having a agreat season NOW we can go back and wish..

relaity...EE is here and has been GREAT....Henry is FINALLY doing some great things but zekes done that since day one and IDC what henrys doing with his TEAM because hes not on ours nor could anyone see into the future as well as you can look back in hindsight's with a dumb fantasy theory and Zekes done nothing to make a claim we made a mistake..Henry kudos for having one great season where Zeke did that the day he stepped onto the field his rookie year.. so no these type of posts are absolutely ridiculous because you cant go back and switch so whats the point..

BTW the rams overpaid for Ramsey and for some reason he didnt survive his rookie deal in Jax, why? he sure didnt really improve the rams defense over peters who BTW is playing great for Baltimore and just got new deal.. Ironic it took henry 4 years to get where zeke was his first year..

ps you know after this season two things could happen Henry has his hand out for big deaal, and after this heavily used season will have drop off next year the likes of Gurley, Bell, JOhnson and tohers..we let Murray go for the same reasons..

Lastly that did not happen to zeke this year he carried the ball only secod to Henrys production by 3 carries, was 4 in rushing but 30yards out of 3rd to take over CM spot.. so why should we pine over what might have or couald have been?

so many teams and fans can use this hindsight to go back and redraft with hope and fantasy..

wake up this is relaity and Zeke signed long term and is going nowhere and hes still prodcuing in year where we went pass happy , he still nearly finished 3rd in rushing..

Henry is a 25 year old RB who has been in the league for four years. Has one great season so.....damn we should have drafted him instead of the guy we have. No matter the guy we have went to three pro bowls, has two rushing titles, and was named to two all pro teams the same span Travis Henry has been in the league. Hell Zekes down year this year was still a good year for a RB.
they never will get it... :hammer:

this is fantasy football generation living in a world of what if and should have vs reality's.. hindsight sure makes people make ignorant statements...

The live in the moment crowd wishes we would have drafted Henry instead. Statistically it hasn’t even been close between the two. In their first four seasons Zeke has more rushing yards, more, TDs and has 189 receptions compared to only 57 for Henry. Zeke is a much more complete RB.
